Not sure how much of that is going on. The Drudge Report has alot of headlines; CNN not so much. The truth must be in the middle somewhere. OTOH, I doubt Drudge makes things up entirely and I’m pretty sure CNN has to be somewhat selective in what they are able to report.

We get a lot of older kids who don’t dress up in costume at all, but just wear streetclothes. Normally this annoys me, but this year I’ll say “Hey, great Trayvon costume!” Well, I’ll probably just think it.

If there’s a silver lining, it’s that “planking,” “owling,” etc. were already impossibly stupid, so each new dimwitted fad is a lateral move, at worst.

Overall I can’t see much harm in this. It’s about as stupid as planking, but it’s not malicious or dangerous like dogging or happy slapping.
