Vivendi is stirring up Tribes fever again by offering the original two titles free.

Where to find them? The June issue of Computer Gaming World will feature them on a pack-in DVD when it hits newsstands May 4. But you’ll also have the option of downloading the games from our very own FilePlanet at the same time.

Fileplanet may restrict the download to paid subscribers but it’ll probably be avaible for free on GamersHell.

They made a Linux version (according to linuxgamers.com); if they release that free, too, I’ll be happy. (Don’t see why they wouldn’t, but still…)

Linux version might be made available.

We licensed that to Loki, and the resulting game belongs to them, and not us (the intellectual property is ours, but we can’t sell the Linux version). So it won’t be made available. If we had the legal right to give it away, we certainly would.

I checked with one of the guys from Loki and he thought that all rights had been returned to the original licensors at the time that loci shut down. I’m checking that out right now.

Might want to check that thread tommorow/later today.
