Mimes! What a clever costume.
About 80. A little bit more than last year. We’ve been handing out glowing things for about 5 years, now. The first few years it was glow sticks on lanyards. Lately it’s been glowing necklaces and finger lights. They have less assembly required.
My son is usually the one who takes point answering the door. He thinks that groups with small children have gotten used to us and stop by our house early, so that their children have lights for the rest of the night.
The first time we went no-candy, we were worried that the kids would be disappointed. But they like having something different, too.
We’re in a small, older residential area a mile or two from downtown.
