Old thread I know (that might be putting it mildly) but as it’s still there and came up as a result while looking for something to do with trigger happy, I thought id add to it anyway. It’s trigger happy’s 25th anniversary year. But as far as it being a British take on jackass goes… no not really. They’re completely different shows, and if anything the sketches/skits that are similar, wouldn’t be influenced by jackass, or it wouldn’t be that way round if one was inspired by the other, as trigger happy came out nearly a year earlier (UK version, the good version). The US version came out later, and Dom joly didn’t really want anything to do with it, and just thought it was crap and a sell out move by the network.
He did re-visit this a few years ago, though. (2016-2017)
It was pretty good as well. Anytime my wife and I see a bike path, we say, “Bike Path! Bike Path, people! Bike Path!”
