Triplets (or, Soon I'll be an uncle times 3)

Well, the ultrasound is in: my brother’s wife is pregnant with 2 boys and 1 girl. Yes, fertility treatments are to blame, just like when Phoebe became pregnant on Friends. They’re scheduled to arrive by C-section sometime in May.

(Incidentally, they already have another son, age 2 1/2 at present, who looks just like me. Given that that conception, like this one, involved their flying to Denver and sending my brother into the Happy Room with a stack of magazines, I’m quite certain that I had nothing to do with it. So don’t give me any grief! hehe)

Anyway. My brother tells me he’s found some great free stuff offered by various companies to parents who have more than twins simultaneously. And yet, I fear that he’ll need more than free stuff to cope with the Instant Large Family he’s about to get…I mean, just imagine the problems inherent in, say, going to the grocery store with all these kids in tow. The logistics are staggering.

So, who here has dealt with a whole herd of babies before? What’s it take? Any helpful hints? I’m sure he’d appreciate any advice I can pass along to him…

There’s also the problem that my brother and his wife are total yuppies and prone to giving their children bizarre names, but I’ll tackle that one later…

Woo! Congratulations, Max! (And to your brother and his family, too. ) Good luck to your SIL with the pregnancy, and good luck to them both while raising these babies. Triplets. I couldn’t imagine…

Congrats congrats congrats, Max!

We’ve got a set of triplets in my family, too. They’re two years old, and their parents are…never bored.

Two girls and a boy here. We call 'em the Supremes. But we’re a weird family.

Umm, could I possibly bother you for some info on the free stuff he’s getting? I know my aunt & uncle sure could use all the help they could get, and I’ll see if I could get some information on how they cope with three meemees screaming at the same time (my guess is really good drugs, but I could be wrong).

Email me if you want!

All I can say is congrats Max’s SIL. At least they’ll probably get to use all the names they’ve ever wanted.

Sorry, I have no advice, but I just wanted to say Congrats, Uncle Max!

Rose

Once again, no advice, but congratulations! I’ll be hoping that the pregnancy goes smoothly.

Brother says he got his info and contact addresses from Triplet Connection; he tells me that much of the freebies and coupons require copies of birth certificates, which you’d expect.

Names. sigh. My nephew’s name is Beck, which I suspect he’ll shed for his middle name as soon as he hits school. They keep bandying about names like “Sierra Ashton”, which just…ew. I don’t know if it’s better to be over-creative or under-creative; my dad is named John, and his siblings are James and Mary. Imaginative, eh? heheh
