Twins on the way

So my wife and I have been doing in vitro as she had her tubes tied ~10 years before we met.

We did round 1 and it didn’t take. We got to the actual fertilization but none grew. That was hard.

We did another round and had the implant done a little while ago. The pregnancy test came back positive.

Yesterday we went and did the ultrasound. Two little guys in there that appear to be doing well. They should be boys as that is what we asked for.

I’m gonna be a dad. To twins.

Egads.

w00t! Congratulations!

My brother & SIL had boy/girl twins via in vitro. Best of luck!

My daughter and son-in-law had twin boys by in vitro. They were born 6 weeks premature due to my daughter, a tiny 100 lb thing when not pregnant, got sick with high blood pressure. They are all fine now 16 months later. The boys have been walking; are even starting to talk; and more importantly, sleeping through the night sometimes!

Good luck!

Woo hoo! Glad to see everything worked out! I’m so happy fo…wait…(checks username)…we are so rude here…

Congratulations!

Congrats! I got twin boys too and now that are 4 year old tornados

Important fact babyproofing and twinproofing are NOT the same.

Also you don’t really need two of everything

Congrats! When’s the due date?

Uncle to twins here - a boy/girl set.

They are so very different people but fiercely loyal to each other. It’s a bond I can’t quite relate to, obviously different than the bond I have with my siblings.

Congrats! Are you goona pick one, or keep them both?

Huge congrats, slee.

I’m the aunt to identical twin girls who are almost 7. Delightful, and such different people for all their identical appearance.

Twice the congratulations to you on such wonderful news

Congratulations!

And what’s the exchange policy if you decide that you picked the wrong one?

So happy for you and your wife. She must be so excited!

Congratulations!

That’s awesome. Father of twin girls here…

gobless, as a dyslexic friend used to write … Yippee for youza both!

Thanks everyone.

I wrote a post yesterday but the hamster must have ate it.

The due date is late November. We are both excited though my wife is feeling icky. There have been shots and meds and it hasn’t been pleasant for her, poor thing.

They will be named Dirk Andrew and Donald Owen but go by Andrew and Owen. The names are a mix of their grandfathers names.

Their room is pretty much done. Now it is just wait and take care of the wife.

This has been way hard. The meds have been hard on my wife and it has been stressful as all hell.

But it worked.

Just food for thought. If they are going by their middle names, why not make the middle name the first name? They will otherwise spend their entire lives correcting the system that demands first name middle initial. Which is more and more pronounced in the modern interwebs age.

(I go by my middle name, and it is a ROYAL pain in the ass)

I don’t know, there are benefits to going by one’s middle name. If someone calls asking for “Firstname”… you know they’re probably selling something!

When her emotions run amuck due to hormones, just keep repeating “I love my wife, and this shall pass”

Double congrats to you and the missus.
