Yikes.

I’ve never seen a wedding service arranged to allow for commercial breaks before.

How long are we giving this marriage? I’m not a total cynic – I think it might last a year.

How about those helicopters? The noise was bothering me. I can’t imagine what it was like for everyone there.

I’m in the same boat as Nanook. I’ve seen a few magazine/tabloid covers in the checkout aisles, but I can’t be bothered to go beyond a glance. Who the heck are they?

I thought the pink chair covers were very nice in the different variations. But I think they will stay married for the long haul. They look like they are in love. The song that Ryan composed with the help of the country singer was very touching. I think there were too many flowers. The fire engine was cute.

I am a resident of Fort Collins, CO. This is only significant b/c that is where Ryan is from. The guy puts out fires in my hometown and I DON’T CARE!! But hey, if ABC was willing to pay for a lavish wedding, that means the only cost I must pay is the loss of dignity. But who needs dignity when fame and free stuff are available?

While I agree with your sentiment, Homebrew, in that I think marriage should be an option for everyone, I wouldn’t equate this marriage with a Las Vegas drive-through wedding to a stranger like “Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire.” Ryan and Trista may have met on tv, but weirder things have happened. And they were engaged for about a year (I think) before tying the knot. So it’s not like they rushed into it. And the wedding tv show wasn’t planned when they aired the Bachelorette - they came up with the idea afterwards.
