The San Diego Padres and the California Angels (yeah I know their real name) are the only MLB franchises to originate in California. The San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers were originally from New York. The Giants’ history includes a team from Troy, NY - the Troy Trojans. Troy is close to Latham, my home town, and Schenectady, where other Dopers have lived.
