Renegade wizard Sirius Black was played in the Harry Potter movies by Gary Oldman, who over the course of a remarkable career has also played a vampire (Bram Stoker’s Dracula), a terrorist (Air Force One), a presidential assassin (JFK), a composer (Immortal Beloved), a crooked cop (Léon: The Professional), a British spy (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) and a punk rock star (Sid & Nancy).
Presidential candidate and former first lady Hillary Clinton is abusive, nasty and mean to the staff and the help. She has repeatedly yelled denigrating insults such as “Fuck off!”, and “Do as I fucking say!”
There are many reports of this regular behavior from several different credible sources over many years.
As far as I can tell, these reports are all rumor. Presenting this as fact without iron-clad cites is just political rhetoric.
Apparently you can’t tell very far. Wake up, Chefguy. Get your head out of the sand.

The 13th century legend of **Lady **Godiva describes an English noblewoman who supposedly rode naked (covered only in her long hair) through the streets of Coventry to gain a remission of the oppressive taxes that her husband imposed on his tenants. The legend is first recorded over 2 centuries after the life of Godiva (also known as Godgifu) and is considered by historians to be fictional.
Godiva Chocolatier is a manufacturer of premium fine chocolates and related products. Godiva, founded in Belgium in 1926, was purchased by the Turkish conglomerate Yıldız Holding, owner of the Ülker Group, in 2007.
Belgium produces 220,000 tons of chocolate per year.
That’s almost 50lbs of chocolate per Belgian.
Three current African nations were former Belgian colonies. Besides the Democratlc Republic of Congo, the Belgians also colonized Rwanda and Burundi, but administered it as a single colonial entity known as Ruanda-Urundi.
The Netherlands was the first country to legalize same-sex marriage. Belgium was second.
I offer one of two solutions for this:
- Don’t make overly political posts in games that might trip off comments from others or cause hijacks.
- If someone does, just ignore it or put them on ignore or PM them your thoughts or Pit them if you’re really bothered by it.
But please don’t: Hijack a game with politics talk, if you can, please.
My reply to Chefguy didn’t need to be snarky, but it sure was. My apologies, Chefguy. We can keep it civil and on point.
Too soon after, I guess. ![]()
Yep, apparently so.
Well, now that everyone has kissed and made up…playing off of #33004.
In play: “Netherlands” literally means “lower countries”, influenced by its low land and flat geography, with only about 50% of its land exceeding one metre above sea level.
In Dutch, the country is Nederland, and the primary language spoken there is Nederlands, a west Germanic language that is spoken by most of the country’s population and by about 60% of Belgium.
Chefguy was it as good for you as it was for me? ![]()
Of all European countries with population over 1M, the Netherlands has the highest population density.
Old Frisian was spoken along the North Sea coast of what is now the Netherlands around 1000 AD. It was the language that was closest to Old English, which is not surprising, since the Angles, Saxons and Jutes likely came from the same area of the North Sea coast.
Subsequent sound shifts in the later Middle Ages also occurred only in English and Frisian.
From Wikipedia:
The Jutland Peninsula comprises Denmark and northern Germany, and the name comes from the Jutes.
Traditionally, the Jutes are considered to have settled in Kent and the Isle of Wight. One possible indication of Jutish settlement is that the pre-Norman inheritance law in Kent was different from that of areas settled by the Anglo-Saxons, who went by a rule of primogeniture. Kentish law provided that the deceased’s land was divided amongst his heirs.
