The biggest comeback victory in National Football League history was in January, 1993, when the Buffalo Bills came back from a 35-3 deficit in the third quarter to win 41-38 in overtime. The Bills went on to lost the Super Bolw, something they did four times.
The biggest victory margin ever in an NFL game was 73-0, in the 1940 championship game. Washington Redskins owner George Preston Marshall had made some regrettable comments about the Chicago Bears’ manhood, prompting their coach/owner George Halas and the “Monsters of the Midway” to keep their feet on the gas for the full 60 minutes. Redskins quarterback Sammy Baugh was interviewed after the game, and a sportswriter asked him whether the game would have been different had Charlie Malone not dropped the tying touchdown pass in the 1st quarter. Baugh reportedly quipped, “Sure. The final score would have been 73–7.”
