Hamilton Burger was the name of the fictional Los Angeles County district attorney, and frequent judicial opponent to defense lawyer Perry Mason, in the novels, films, radio dramas, and television dramas featuring Mason. In the various Mason stories, Burger nearly always lost in court to Mason.
In the original Perry Mason television series (which ran from 1957 to 1966), the character of Burger was played by William Talman, while Mason was played by Raymond Burr. During that series, Burger defeated Mason on only two occasions.
Well, according to IMDb, Peck had 3 roles following the release of Cape Fear in 1991. Two were in made-for-TV movies, and one was in a TV miniseries.
IMDb also states ‘The short answer is: if it’s made for TV, it’s a TV production; if it was made to be released in theaters, it’s a theatrical film.’ Thus, it can be argued that the remake of Cape Fear was indeed Peck’s last film role.
In play: Also according to IMDb, Perry Mason lost the case in the episode entitled ‘The Case of the Deadly Verdict’. Because she lied, his client is found guilty and sentenced to death. But, of course, Mason eventually finds the real killer.
