I did a quick check and it was an obvious sock or at least pretending to be sock.
I use that for merging threads. It’s pretty common to get two essentially identical breaking news threads. I like that button, would be very unhappy if it weren’t there.
Ah. That might explain why this morning discourse claimed that I had over four thousand unread posts in this thread, and inserted me somewhere around post #7.
I was going to say I didn’t get any notifications, but what I apparently didn’t get was any notification that I had new notifications. When I looked at my notifications anyway, there are two of them in there about this thread moving.
I appear to have missed the troll entirely. Fine by me!
