I considered that myself. From what I’ve seen, they have different posting styles.
I can’t rule it out though.
I don’t know anything about this poster, but in their OP in the thread about why folks hate Trump, this phrase certainly caught my eye and looked very much like sealioning.
Can someone explain - calmly and without exaggeration
A quick glance at posting history does not throw out any red flags, so maybe it is just general cluelessness. I look forward to their return to their thread where they will declare the wool lifted from their eyes and their new clear perspective.
He did start a thread about the “Russia Hoax.” So there’s that.
I had considered bringing that thread up here, but after a review similar to @Roderick_Femm’s, I didn’t see any sign of trollishness.
Doesn’t mean they aren’t a low-information Fox news watcher - the question would be, if they actually read and follow up on the incidents mentioned, if they double down on the Trump defense, deflect to the “it’s not anything else rich people don’t do”, or improve.
I wouldn’t lay odds though, especially since they dropped that turd of a biased OP and haven’t responded.
( no offense to @What_Exit suggesting that P&E was not the right place to attack the OP’s insinuations and own bias [ IMHO it was the right call ], but it was still noticeable )
My quick glance missed that.
And he never came back to that thread.
Okay, so it wasn’t just me who had their trolldar pinging faintly.
I get the “shouldn’t link” part as that’s a mod ruling, but “shouldn’t @”? Whyever not?
I personally assumed it was a copy-paste job. That opening read like some spam I’ve seen, claiming it was reported in all of these news sites.
Because the person gets a message about the post, you’re basically sending them a private message to come join the thread. And that’s not necessarily something you want to do in this thread.
Not that the thread is secret (anyone can read it) but that doesn’t mean you have to advertise either.
That wasn’t as a mod.
Just to avoid dragging the person to the thread and disrupting this thread.
I think this thread shouldbe where we talk and warn about trolls, not engage with them.
Agreed
The poster r a l f y is on a streak.
Yeah, I can almost hear the timer ticking on that one.
First warning issued and an ejection from the Ukraine Invasion thread.
So we’ll see if they modify behavior or carry on.
Did anyone get a feel for that pile o’ turds ralfy dropped into the Ukraine MPSIMS thread? I understand it’s been characterized as “off-topic” (and my glance at it showed that it was also terse to the point of incoherence, except for a bunch of links), but I’m trying to gauge how “out there” their “contribution” was. Pro-RU propaganda? Irrelevant conspiracy theory crap? Political nutbaggery? All of the above?
If no one bit the bullet to sample the garbage, I understand.
It was off-topic for the thread. Some was Pro-RU.
Ok. I was just trying to understand how anyone could go so far off-base, but I guess if you don’t care about the rules or the thread context it’s easy.
Pitiful.
Has ol’ ralf ever been on base?
Hit by a pitch. Picked off trying to steal third (directly from first, mind you.) Left the team after the rest of the players (and coaches) filled his cup with Gorilla Glue and Ben-Gay.
