One of those OPs sounds very familiar (as if I read something like that a few months ago).

Same. I haven’t reported that poster, because I don’t see anything being violated, but I’m 98% sure it’s some returning poster (no idea who). Just too comfortable, playing all over P&E and opened a political-sort-of thread in the Cafe.
Oh, wow! I only just peaked at their “Barbie is political?” thread. Classic trolling. Asserts ignorance about an issue that should be obvious to anyone who isn’t a g-damn Martian, and then gets in a sideways dig at feminists to stoke the embers on top of that.
Obvious troll is obvious. Don’t need to read any other topics by them, or even see how effectively they have trolled others by reading their replies. There is no other explanation.
I’d debate the idea that everyone is aware of the right-wing controversy over the Barbie movie. So far, none of the other posters have managed to explain it.
If they weren’t aware, they wouldn’t hop onto a message board like this for the first time and ask out of nowhere, they’d Google it. But the sideways dig at feminists should be the clincher (for those who need one).
ETA: I see “this user is no longer active” for their status now. That’s a change in just the last 10 minutes. I suspect they’re on their way to the cornfield.
SeamusMuadhen (no need to be coy anymore) has been banned as a trock, as What_Exit split off (now vanished) posts to a “Trock posts” thread. (In other words, cornfielded.)
I had my suspicions but given that nothing they did was particularly problematic (that I’d seen at that point), I played along, replying a couple of times.
We have a serial trock that shows up, starts a little slow and then spams the board with their crap. He was a longtime posters before he became a serial Trock.

I keep hoping we’ll have some new poster who is good to interact with. Sort of like Charlie Brown trying to kick Lucy’s football.
If you run several accounts at once are you a parallel Trock?

Which is why new posters tend to get the side-eye in this forum. I do find it interesting though that it seems to me that the time-frame in which they can pretend to be ‘innocent’ seems to be compressing these days.
I was going to say I’m a new(ish) poster, but a long time reader, and then I realized I formally joined 3 years ago this month. I was surprised, it didn’t seem that long.
You don’t count, you are 100% one of us.
Well several of the Trocks have weird compulsions to come back here and always slip up fairly fast.
Others are much slyer about it. They maintain character well and don’t push very much.
I’m sure some return and don’t act like jerks and have been quietly posting for years as a newer poster and don’t cause problems. Still making similar posts to their first time around but without running afoul of our rules.
I should add, we don’t actually care about the last category. Stay under the radar and have fun posting.
Thanks! But I still probably prove my point - if I hadn’t been a column reader (with a minor side in reading the links from the OG online column to the boards) I wouldn’t have ever found this place, sight unseen.
Funny thing is back when I found the place the Column and the Board were high Google hits to a lot of questions my daughter asked me. That why I started to check the board out.
I ended up joining, reading all of the archive, was extremely active for my first 3-4 years here. Hosted Dopefests, bought many of the books and a mug.
I never left, but I drifted away for a bit then wandered back more active again. Though I found GD unreadable for most of the teens until the new rules were put in place.
I really don’t get why these sad people do this. It’s pathetic.
I’m not qualified in the least but I suspect mental issues.
With 2 of the serial trocks we know it is actual mental issues.
