It’s not proof by any stretch of the imagination, but I always look closely at relative new posters who start threads about trolls/socks.
I had a similar thought last night.
I think those of us who post in this thread have fairly good senses for determining troll or not. The moderators have to be more circumspect, but they also get more tools.
We usually have a pretty good sense for who’s a tool, too.
Guess who just got admonished for helping hijack the most recent Trump thread in P&E into a border debate.

No need to guess, I was there trying to give him a hint that Trump was the one playing stupid games, and so do are the bigots that pretend that the illegal things that they want to do to immigrants are hunky-dory. TOWP is also happy to win stupid prices.
Yeah, this is the second time–at least–that this asshole has inserted his outrageous xenophobic bullshit into another thread and hijacked it. It’s time for him to fuck off.

I still might elevate the modnote to warnings for the pair I called out. One of the worst and most blatant hijacks I’ve seen.

I get what you’re saying, but TOWP absolutely started the hijack, just as he did last time. Czarcasm shouldn’t’ve kept up with it, but I don’t see his behavior as equivalent to TOWP’s obnoxious instigation.
It is, he more than rose to the bait. I’m not make a judgement on content, just the extreme hijack.
But tomorrow I’ll decide.
