'Twas my thread he hijacked. I posted a question to him (I think TOWP’s male) in the new thread about Cuban refugees. The reason for my question is because of the dry foot/wet foot policy.
I’m very disappointed that there’s no warning for content. He was basically advocating for murdering immigrants at the border.

Actually I reviewed the posters now in the morning and after my coffee. It turns out Waldo has done hijacks like this multiple times and modnotes don’t seem to be enough. So a warning has been issued.

More precisely, he was judging it as less immoral than allowing a large number of people here who didn’t have permission to enter. Yes, it’s a bonkers position to hold, but it’s NOT the same as advocating their murder in transit.

I went there because the kind of dehumanizing language, cruelty, and willful blindness and indifference are the same sorts of fascist-enabling behavior that allowed the Nazis to murder millions of human beings, while those members of the public who were not willing/gleeful participants feigned ignorance or found ways to rationalize the inhumane treatment as something owed such “criminals” and “undesirables.”
All the euphemisms in the world can’t change reality. What is actually happening? He might as well be advocating their murder.

Fuck it. I have zero inclination to get into a debate where I inadvertently advance the perception that I defend or endorse TOWP’s position as stated in that hijack. Suffice it to say that I agree with W_E’s declaration that he wasn’t going to moderate for content in this instance.

(ETA: There are other reasons to assume someone is trolling. For example if the hijack had been diametrically opposed to the thread it was placed in. I.e. if it was a thread on humane treatment of migrants. But I don’t see that here.)
