What we really wanna know: was it the sock of someone who, hypothetically, wore MAGA-bottom jeans?
NO! " “I’m shocked, shocked, to find that gambling is going on in here.“”

Thanks.
Saves me the trouble of putting him on ignore. Well done.
Fallen’s goofy attempts at what I can barely call sophistry isn’t exactly winning anyone over, I’m pretty sure, in the David Brooks thread in P + E.
There was a thread concerning the discomfort of having shortness of breath, which did not seem like any kind of trolling. The replies were a regular sort of discussion, as far as I saw and participated in. Now the entire thread has vanished. When I tried to click on a reply notification, I got an error message. Does that mean the OP was a sock? I’m not finding the thread, but I don’t remember the exact title, or the name of the OP.
This one?

It shows you replied and deleted your reply.
Well never mind.
The OP is, AFAIK, an established poster with a reasonably good reputation. And, was posting about a (presumably transient) health question from 9 months ago.
The real question is why you chose to resurrect that particular zombie. But perhaps you didn’t. Perhaps a fly-by (like a spammer) resurrected the thread and you just carelessly responded, which left you in the lurch when the spammer got cornfielded. Perhaps.
That’s probably it – when it showed up as a new post, eschrodinger responded to the thread number that was actually a spammer. That particular post probably went away.
No, I mistakenly posted to that thread after searching for the thread I had been posting in. There’s no issue in that thread, as far as I know. I deleted my post after realizing my mistake.
The thread I’m talking about was a different one from the (mistakenly) resurrected one.
Are you talking about the difficulty breathing thread? That was started by a serial sock. One that comes back often.
The one about an adverse reaction to an ointment or something like that, yeah? That one caught my eye for (former) professional reasons.

Thanks. I figured it was something like that. Just confusing because it seemed innocuous in isolation.
As soon as I saw the word “ointment”, I knew who it was.
Currently I’m watching webwarrior in the “America was founded as a Christian Nation” thread. I’m watching, because so far, they seem like someone who stumbled on the site (only been here 3 days) and is (as per the name) fighting perceived ignorance. Even if their version of of ignorance is bringing Christian Political Enlightenment to us horrible sorcerous heathen savages and getting in trouble for failure to provide cites or backing to his points except in the most obscure ways possible.
Still, both the name and actions to date make me watch. Watching his arguments get thrashed in the thread is popcorn worthy however.
“Pilgrims partying too hard to adequately prepare winter provisions” was some exceptional historical shtick.
Yeah…
At least he’s not a troll.
Just deeply ignorant and unbelievably arrogant and oblivious to his ignorance. And intellectual incurious to an unsurprising degree. It’s pigeon chess all day long.
I really liked the “it’s unsafe to walk the streets at night” schtick, especially when he doubled down on it.
I’m waiting for the “The FBI faked the national crime statistics for the past decade, just to make me look bad in this debate.”
Instead we got the “take the red pill” and “stop watching CNN” tropes, both ignoring the fact that the data was straight from the FBI.
