Some people in the Rittenhouse thread, most or all of whom have their own pit threads already, have been positively delighted that he’s probably going to walk on the homicide charges. Because of justice? Maybe, if “justice” and “white vigilante killing liberals” is the same thing. I think it might be to them.
Other than checking it for news updates, I’ve retreated from reading that thread in detail. The overall tone was making me feel almost greasy.

If it makes you feel better I don’t think regardless of acquittal that Rittenhouse won’t “get away with it”. No more than OJ Simpson or Casey Anthony did. He’ll be something of a pariah and will probably be hounded by the media for decades, if not the rest of his life, and will find it difficult to live a normal life. And that’s assuming that he doesn’t do something to get him tossed in prison eventually anyway like OJ did.
The purpose of those claims is to emotionally blackmail the board and its members into tolerating far right wing crap, lest we supposedly chase off all those poor souls that have a humongous presence elsewhere on the interwebs. They are an imaginary “minority”, and they think that affords them special protection.
I want to bet money that… excepting additional controversies, as you mentioned… Kyle will speak at the 2024 RNC, but I’m not a gambling man. But making the call right here. 
They’re fucking snowflakes, who think that opinions contrary to their own should be banned, lest it make them feel bad.
I would accuse them of hypocrisy, but to them hypocrisy is just a weapon and nothing to be ashamed of. It is like accusing them of wearing socks.

I think he’ll be more like a George Zimmerman. He’ll (continue to) be feted by the far right and his time in that dark spotlight will only be limited by his personal charisma.
