A trainwreck, especially the “Help,help, I’m being oppressed” thread in ATMB, really over the top. I had hopes they would come back and apologise, but I guess the only way they will come back will be as a trock. If they was sincere, they must have been on something to act that stupid after all these years (15, not 25).

There was certainly much hating before it got closed, and yes an ATMB thread.

I blame the doctor approved, prescription drugs I was on. Yeah I’m going with that.

I think they had 14 posts saying they would post no more. That was of 35 posts in the Pit thread. Might be a record for a 3 hour period.
I could’ve sworn there was one that turned into a reverse pitting. Either I’m mistaken or the thread was about someone else.
I think I said “Sorry, not leaving” about 37 times in a thread once.
I think that ugly sequence had to have set some kind of record for flounce rate.
Too hot to return to the scene of the crime. Nobody’s shot up a furniture outlet yet, so we should be safe.
I, for one, am glad that you stuck it out. While I don’t generally find myself compelled to open your threads, neither do I avoid your posts. You often show me a unique perspective that would not have occurred to me independently of your commentary, and I am both impressed with the level of esteem in which you are held, and desirous that you should think well of me.
ETA: is that “missing the good old days” thread the longest one that’s ever been cornfielded?

John Mace tried to run me off, but he did not succeed. I’ve learned so much here so I’m glad I got past his attempt to bully me. He was finally sort of kind to me after he saw I wasn’t going anywhere. He’s been gone a long time now. I do hope he’s doing ok.
IIRC, the snopes boards had a rule that if you said you were leaving (the boards, not a particular thread; and without the caveat that you were just taking a temporary break) that was it: you were out. Effectively it was an automatically-granted request to be banned.
Said rule would have to be really well publicized to be fair, of course.
I don’t see how that’s fair no matter how well it is publicized.
I understand the appeal, and my petty vindictiveness would like it. But if someone has a bad day and later changes their mind, they should be allowed to do that.
