Just for the record (and I already brought it up to the appropriate individuals) I’m keeping an eye on “new” poster JJnoLAla whose very first and supremely confident post was in the charged “antisemitism from those college heads” Pit thread.
It’s the now-usual pattern - no introduction, no “hey, I just found this,” just jumps in with all signs of comfort and familiarity, posting on a charged subject, and with a very weird and seemingly forced comment about “trans-accountants” that feels like an attempt at a possible future gotcha or a cheap shot.
All of 6 posts read and yet they felt they knew enough to jump in? Well, time will tell, but all signs point to trock for me. And for now, the cornfield hungers deep beneath a blanket of snow, which conceals, but does not contain…

Someone named something like areallthegoodnamestaken posted a question about calling in a “code violation” on a neighbor, and now they’re gone. My elegantly simple answer is also gone. Oh well.
That’s what’s known as an object lesson in calling in a code violation on a community member.
That was one of our serial trolls. Quick and easy banning.
IIRC, mine didn’t quite get posted. I finished it, hit “post”, and got told there was an error and the page might be locked or gone. Tried refreshing the page, and got ‘this page does not exist’.
I didn’t see what was wrong with the thread itself, at least to that point; so suspected it might have been a sock. And my guess is now confirmed.
Another new poster with an attention seeking thread; in MPSIMS about a frustrating and slightly embarrassing experience by some American military number. Not obviously breaking any rules at the moment, but following a traditional trollish pattern.
Yeah. If you want to be accepted as a legitimate poster, get into the thread games say, or chime in about a TV show or movie in CS, or provide some helpful in-depth information, perhaps from your own professional field, in either GQ or IMHO. Engage with board members on their level, get into the spirit of the community, etc. I don’t grasp why the first post from a new member who wants to be authentically accepted here has to be in a brand-new thread you just made containing some weird overtones or vaguely-disturbing details indicating some possible offbeat predilections on your part.

I’m getting really really strong troll vibes from the guy whose name is all lower case letters, starts with a “q”, ends with a “z”, and has an “a” in the middle. Essentially is insisting that Biden is not the POTUS since he stole the 2020 election. At least that’s the impression I get from their posts in the “Biden pick a new VP” and “Biden pardons Hunter” threads in P&E.
Though it’s hard to tell, those posts are a bit obscure, either on purpose to be coy or because they’re posting under the influence.
Either way, I’m not sure enough to flag the posts and it doesn’t seem worth confronting them. But they really ping the trolldar.

Could be deliberate trolling, could just be a Trumpist who really believes that nonsense. Either way, the chances of constructive engagement appear very low, and the chances of rapid removal high.
