I saw that! (S)he acted offended.
No smoking gun yet, but yeah, I know.
It’s not just the pattern for Human of new, familiar with how everything works, huge number of new threads, etc.
It’s that almost all of the threads created are just barely neutral enough to pass, but universally feel like bait. All about subject that are again, just barely within normal range, but also have a huge possibility of sparking classic fracture issues on the board:
- IQ tests, considering our many threads on how to remove bias? Check.
- Age, again, considering our back and forth on ageist issues? Check.
- Intelligence again on video games? Check.
- Orca brain in human body is just weird and gross.
- Stuck in a simulation? Could be interesting again, but felt poisoned from the get go.
Anyway, everything looks like a deliberate effort to stir the pot, especially this board’s stew, while again barely giving deniability.
Irresistible, isn’t it?
Agreed. Humans are a most delicious prey.
J-Z? I cannot find that on a search.
Our poster Jay-Z, the only man in history whose wife cheated on him and left him for another man.
It’s Jay Z, one of the resident red pill mra nut jobs.
allegedly
Who else did we have with the MO of continually starting threads with such inane questions?
Jim_B.
Very different style of writing though. Very very different.
Inane questions on a variety of subjects, yeah, but I was thinking of someone asking inane questions of Dopers themselves. A/S/L sort of thing.
I don’t get the Jim B vibe at all, unless Jim was successfully concealing intelligence under a gosh-shucks personality for years and years. Humans is definitely a trock, but he/she did actually post something that’s made me think: in the IQ thread, accusing someone of asking prying questions: “It basically amounts to “Why are you here”, like you’re in some exclusive club and I’ve socially engineered or hacked my way in it… and now you have to interrogate this person to figure out what’s going on lol”.
The thing is: this would be a perfectly reasonable objection to an annoying line of questioning IF anyone could believe he/she really is a newcomer. There absolutely is a clubby vibe on the SDMB. But yeah, Humans did indeed “socially engineer” and “hack” his/her way in for sure: they’re a trock without question. It’d be a shame if a real new person ever got the third degree though.
It’s possible this place is so etoliated that it’s truly become an exclusive club, like the last members of a dying aristocracy. There are almost no real newcomers anymore; no wonder we jump on them if they have the faintest whiff of familiarity with How Things Are Done Here.
Wow, that’s a five-dollar word.
So I wasn’t the only one that had to look it up?
Well, it is misspelled. Probably bought it at a remainders shop.
I thought it was “etoiliated”; that is, sprinkled with stars. And thus an obfuscated reference to star-bellied sneetches.
How embarrassing. I blame it on being educated by governesses.
It’s appropriate that a troll thread becomes a discussion on human behavior.
And spelling!
