Possible troll/sock alert in the “Kamala Harris run up to the election” thread in P&E. Relatively new poster Cool, seems to have registered about a year ago, relatively low read time. Has come into the middle of said thread and seems to be arguing that the “immigrants eat pets” BS is a sign of societal collapse? And not in the way you’re thinking.
Anyway, I briefly considered responding to that post but I think my time is probably better spent here.

I’d considered it too… That the story of one crazy person means society was collapsing. My reply would have been along the lines of, “Why does society hinge on the behavior of this one person?” But meh, that person is pretty obviously a troll, or if not, close enough to treat it as one.
I just wanted to point out that their recent poll in the polls only thread is SUPER trolly.
Paraphrasing, it insists oh, this poll isn’t about anything IRL, but you can have a terrible, murder/rapist/grifting candidate who puts forward better policies that you trust they’ll enact over another candidate who is honest and good, but their policies are only fine. Who do you support?
The fucking wink wink, nudge nudge, and the “see, the ends justify the means” is horrific. I already attacked (within the limits of the discussion thread) the poll, but of course, Velocity is eating it up.
I am much worse that identifying trocks than others, so I can’t speak to that assumption, but with this, and the quoted chunk above, oh yeah, he’s fucking trolling.

That thread being a not-so-tongue-in-cheek reaction to his habit of disingenuously limiting the scope of threads to to effectively force people to mimic conservative beliefs, or else stay out. For example, a thread about god designed to force atheists to adopt a theistic mindset for the sake of argument (it occurs to me I probably can’t link to it under current board rules as I understand them).
ETA: The title of that specific thread was Atheists: If there had to be a god, what would you want it to be like?
