That’s because the film was unrelated to Troll and was originally called Goblins. It was renamed to Troll 2 by American distributors to try to bring in fans of the original film.
I was thinking more that “Gobb” was a hamhanded attempt to be a returning troll (Troll 2).
We all know people IRL who we had known for a long time as sensible people who have since been sucked into the craziness and are now spouting alternate reality RW or CT gibberish as if it was profound insight.
IMO the late unlamented pedro was one of those. He may have been a long-ago joiner, but he was never much of a participant.

As an aside, I have to wonder if the name is a coincidence? For those who don’t know, in the Back to the Future movies Biff Tannen is the name of the primary villain and in the second movie Biff is cast as a Trump stand-in in an alternate future. Millionaire businessman, narcissistic, vain, cruel, overbearing, and weirdly orange. I could be reaching here, but it seems a bit on the nose.
He also has some strong feelings about the wokeness of the show Ragnarok over in Cafe Society.
