This whole thing has been pathetic honestly. Just because this is the pit doesn’t mean we have to always devolve into hostility.
There were a few rational responses to this poster but mostly it was just vitriol. I get it, everyone is past their limit, but what was the point? Maybe there was no rational discussion to be had but if escalation is our only tool, nothing is accomplished.
My point, at least, was to attempt to strip away his blatantly false veneer of civility and good faith. He was a liar and hypocrite from the get-go, and the more he had to defend his statements the more he lied and accused us of what he himself was doing and the more evident it became, until all he had left was the usual “liberal tears/hivemind” bullshit.
At which point I stopped engaging.
Yeah, Im not pointing out anyone specifically, and I recognize that some of you responded at least at first in the spirit of genuine dialog.
I admire anyone that can remain un-emotional in discussion of such fiery politics. There is still a time and place to be angry and offended, and a time to walk away.
I wouldn’t even know how to contact Antifa. Are they listed in the phone book?
