Oh, and I flagged that post, saying I’m not sure it’s enough to ban the poster but it really looks like trouble and I wanted mods to be aware.
He’s clearly a RW true believer. Not gonna play nice here. Exactly when his Faux-talking point BS becomes actionable is a different question.
Yeah, that’s why my report wasn’t like, “BAN THIS PERSON NOW BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE!!!” It was more, “Hey, this is inflammatory, I suspect trolling, probably should keep an eye on it.”

I don’t think you said anything to them in that thread that did you any disservice. If anything, you corrected a misunderstanding they had which will aid them for as long as they are posting here.
I’ve changed my mind about this latest suspect. I think they are neither troll nor sock.
They posted in the white culture thread saying, among other things, they’re glad to find an open forum where people can express opinions like the “wild west” of the early internet days. They were informed that actually there are mods here.
Then after the inflammatory post I linked to, they got noted, with the admonition that their post had unsupported claims and a big hijack which are no-nos in P&E.
They later posted in the white culture thread again, asking for their account to be deleted.
My theory now is that they found the original thread through a Google search, wandered in, made false assumptions, realized that there are actually rules here and decided to nope out.
