Jesus H. Christ on a handtruck, I can be so freakin’ slow on the uptake. I swallowed the bait.
Reads like someone doing a Stephen Miller impression. I think the eugenicist theory has weight.
Clearly a trock of some sort, probably a repeat one that’s been here several times. Anytime someone new shows up like this, acts overly familiar and knows how to push the boards buttons ‘in just the right way’, creating a kerfuffle without stepping over the line, it invariably ends being a repeat offender.
I’m terrible at tieing trocks back to previously banned posters, but he’s ticking all the boxes. He’s fitting a pattern.
Yeah, well they’re definitely getting a good meal.

Any time the OP is a) unfamiliar to you, and b) obviously angry … STOP. It’s a troll.
As to the troll’s contentions …
The troll has two related but different contentions. Which of course the RW propaganda-o-sphere has carefully conflated to steer their sheeps’ narrative. And which our foolish protagonist duly mixes together freely.
Putting the significantly disruptive kids into the regular classroom, “mainstreaming”, does in fact happen in many jurisdictions. And is harmful to the normies’ educations. Sometimes districts do it for ideological / pedagogical reasons, and in other places it’s simply a matter of limited funding offering them no alternative.
The other related issue, and by far the more pernicious, is that society should not pay for educating anyone other than normies. As with most RW “solutions” this simply moves the problem to out of (their) sight out of (their) mind. Where the power of wishful thinking can make it vanish. For them. Leaving the rest of us to expensively clean up the growing mess left behind.
I was going to ask him directly if he was advocating for Aktion T4 but thought better of it.
Presumably this involves the Rosemary Kennedy option.
A Wikipedia admin started a joke about such usernames; it goes something like this: any username containing “truth” should be indefinitely blocked on sight because they likely aren’t there to be truthful.
Same with any username component along the lines of “you won’t say”, “they can’t admit”, “everyone knows”, etc.
It all goes back to their idea that everyone agrees with their ignorant wacky reactionary and/or racist ideas, but some people are too cowed by the crowd to say what they believe. Unlike these fine brave spokespeople.
There’s no pravda (truth) in Izvestija, and no izvestija (news) in Pravda.
Very funny, especially when you know that “pho” is pronounced “phuh” in Vietnamese.
I remember essays on Wikipedia warning about “the Truth” and coming to the project to “Right Great Wrongs”. Anyone professing to do either is not going to do well there. I used to quote WP:TRUTH and WP:RIGHTGREATWRONGS to folks in my admin days.
I engaged with that person, but he/she keeps talking in circles and not making any sense, which I view as trolling. Glad the mods are all over it.
I’ve worked in special education for about 9 years now and that poster made me very angry. SE kids are put into mainstream classes, but only selectively and with proper support in my experience. Or perhaps I’ve just been fortunate enough to meet the lucky kids. I’ve also met with kids who would not be able to make it in a regular school, but do fine here in a specialized school.
I suspect that was their purpose, not you specifically, but to rile up the members of this board.
I related my experience with a close friend in elementary school who was in special education. I also had a neighbor growing up with Down syndrome. And then as an adult, one of my friends got involved in teaching special education. It’s a topic that means quite a bit to me.
And that poster pissed me off, but I can tell it was trolling so I’ve kept out of that thread, despite at least a half a dozen times being tempted to post something. But nope, not going to bite on that hook.
We are looking at a specialized school for my son, who has ASD level 2, ADHD and more severe executive functioning issues than ADHD would explain. Public school has been an absolute dumpster fire so far. My kid’s raw cognitive processing is three standard deviations above the mean, but he has trouble with so many things that are expected of public school students. The school seems to be treating it as a disciplinary issue.
I’m fuckin’ done, man, and he just started kindergarten. I’m working on a document right now to disabuse his IEP team of the notion that this is about anything other than my son’s disability, and that any plan must take into account the extent of that disability. People want to see him as Level 1 because he’s so smart, but his limitations are substantial.
But while I’m writing this letter I’m planning our exit. This shit is really getting to my son’s self-esteem because he is trying so hard and keeps getting disciplinary notes despite his best efforts. He is already trying to hide the notes from me and his Dad. He is so far over his head.
And I let them make me feel like it was my fault.
I don’t expect much given the limited funding that schools have, in many cases I think their hands are tied by funding restraints, but the doctor who recently did neuropsych testing flat out told us he’s probably not going to get what he needs in public school.
And that’s where families like mine, who have the means, can look into alternatives that will help him reach his full academic potential (which is enormous, in this case.) And people who don’t have the means are just screwed, and never get to reach their potential. Because sometimes people with serious disabilities have the capacity to thrive in the right setting, which is often denied them.
It should be better and easier for people like my son to get a public school education, but as long as people like our resident troll are clawing back public school funds every chance they get it’s never going to happen.
I’m frustrated with the school of course, but this is really a systemic issue so I’m not taking it personally.
Spice, that’s a hard thing you’re looking at with your sons schooling.
This troll means nothing. They disgusted me immediately. I called their premiss distasteful. Got noted for it. But I stand by my immediate determination. It’s awful to say what they said.
Of course we should help the neediest, the most. High functioning students with no issues will swim to the top without extra help. That leaves more time to give a boost where needed. It’s a hand-up not a hand-out. Money is never wasted being the teacher or special aide to these marginalized students. It helps the student, the teacher the other kids seeing it. It teaches compassion if nothing else.
Don’t let this person get to you.
It’s a troll. A nothing. A nobody. A fake.
PS- get your son out of that school.
Maybe he needs another year of preparatory school or classes. We understand he’s smart but if he can’t tolerate the classroom and all their rules, he’s just not ready to be in that setting. IMHO
I just wanted to say I’m impressed and glad that you were able to get to this point, and (especially) that you moved past blaming yourself. From your frequent reporting, I think we can have as good a grasp as possible (for internet randos) of the challenges you and your family have gone through to adapt to your child’s needs (NOTE, I say needs, not “disciplinary issues”).
But yeah, the schools were underfunded and undertrained to handle exceptions, or at least that was my mother’s perspective when she was a Special Needs teacher and later supervisor for her local district. And that was 15+ years ago, and with the ongoing Republican War on “Those who can’t fight back” it’s certainly gotten worse if anything.
Evaluate your needs, that of your family, and keep fighting and researching until you find the best fit for your family.
Not going to comment much on the specific poster, but I do agree that they seem to be posting to evoke an emotional response rather than backing up any of their arguments with numbers, studies and figures so far. And I did love the comeback about getting all this football out of their local Education!
I think we have a live one.

I put it in code tags to not create a link (here or there). But a brand new poster whose first post is to claim that “Christianity” and “science” is part of “white culture”.
I also wonder if the name “PeteyAmin”, which I’m sure is meant to be a pun on “Idi Amin”, is a clue.
Yup. I almost forgot we were in Great Debates.
