I like to think that the final straw was the mods noticing me putting them on ignore.
Said recently banned poster had been on our watchlist since that State of the Union address thread, with some time taken to build consensus in part due to the age of the account. If the suspicions of this thread are correct, we’ll see them again, so no need to throw more attention in their direction.

ZosterSandstorm is back, in a thread about Graham Platner, making his usual wild and unsubstantiated snarls against the left in a way so patently dishonest and rage-baity that I’m unwilling to chalk it up to stupidity.
Is it worth flagging?
I don’t know that it’s worth flagging; based on my experience and on the policy of “not moderating for factual claims”, I suspect y’all won’t see it as trollish as I see it. I just wanted to vent. If others disagree (either that it’s obviously not trolling, or obviously is), I’d be curious to hear why.
I just checked and agree, not worth flagging. Nothing actionable about those posts.
It falls into the category of “never attribute to malice what can be adequately explained by stupidity,” and I’m just not feeling charitable enough to think he’s stupid.
He used to be a lot worse and these days he posts within our rules. He might post unpleasant opinions, but as you said, we don’t moderate for that.
You do moderate for deliberate dishonesty, especially when it’s intended to provoke other posters, right? That’s what I’m seeing from him, but I recognize it’s a judgment call. The repeated factual accusations that are counterfactual and uncited, with all requests for cites ignored, points heavily to that IMO.
I’ll just say that his response to me in the Platner thread is certainly … provocative. I have chosen to ignore it, since it’s so ludicrous it is not worth responding to.
At least that thread helped me finally figure out what DSA was. I had never heard the term.

My nephew grew disenchanted with the Democrats over Gaza and is now a part of the DSA. Here is the Wiki page on them. The organization had a big boost in 2016 thanks to Bernie Sanders.
I put him on ignore years ago because he is a malicious, lying piece of shit. I can’t wait until he slips up bad enough to finally get banned from this board for good.
