There is nothing wrong with writing long posts. I am far from the only one who does so. It is not a legitimate reason to get mad, and including it in your complaints is part of why I don’t see what I can do to please you. It’s unreasonable.
It takes a while to unpack things.
There’s a lot more I have to say, but fortunately it’s already in the post you refused to read. You say I’m making your job harder, but it would take you a minute to read the post, and even notice I apologized.

What do you not “get” in the common theme in all of those Pit threads? Any value in the content of what you post is lost because nobody wants to wade through your verbose sanctimonious pomposity.
I don’t think this is fair. WE pitted me. It’s normal to reply back. And, again, “long” posts are normal. Many posts here are longer than mine. And I had a lot to cover in a single post. It takes a while to unpack things sometimes. And it takes longer to try and be sensitive while saying what you want to say.
Then he followed that by taunting me about how he’s not going to read the post. He claims I gave a “wal[l] of text” when I included several paragraphs. And he keeps accusing me of trolling when I clearly didn’t.
Yes, he’s having a bad weekend. That’s why I was sympathetic and pulled back, rather than responding in kind. (Until he intentionally provoked me after the fact.) But it’s not fair to accuse me of being some sort of attention seeker because I respond normally.
In fact, I intend to do what I normally do and avoid this thread for a week so that I don’t wind up replying to everyone, or getting more upset than is warranted. I actually do usually like WE as a mod, and he knows that as I periodically thank him via PM or ATMB when he does a good job, so that not every reply I give to him is negative.
And I give up if 14 sentences is too long for people to read.
Stop worrying about what random fools on the internet think about you. What exit is overly emotional, hypocritical and has a limited grasp of things. Just avoid him.

Having said that, @What_Exit , I think your first instinct should have applied:
Better for your blood pressure, better for you overall. I think if one poster is that annoying to you, better to leave the moderation of their posts to other mods. Otherwise any subsequent moderation (even extremely well-deserved moderation) by you on them is always going to attract an “It’s personal” response that some actual troll (looks up) is going to use as a wedge.
Have some sympathy for the conflict that BigT is going through right now at the shameful prospect of the unwoke octopus agreeing with him and seeing nothing wrong with his style of communication. Nothing you or I could say would lessen BigT’s righteous certainty, but this…
I’m not going to say that I agree with how BigT communicates 100% of the time but that’d be true for any poster. The vitriol and personal attacks, even in ATMB, by a mod no less are nothing more than a game played by bullies at this point.
I see @Roger_That has another locked thread. I just hope the mods recognize what is going on, and don’t frame this as “we can’t allow people to advocate for illegal activity, even when it’s for a good/sympathetic cause,” but instead what it is: trolling.
Don’t play its game. Ban the account, and label it a troll, not a martyr (gee, what do you suppose that’s what it’s been driving toward all along? With a bloody fucking jesus avatar…).
Just to let you know, @BigT, not everyone here despises you. While I do sometimes find your posts tedious (and I’ll scroll right past if I find myself yawning), I generally find them to be a thoughtful consideration of the issue and the evidence. I don’t always agree with your conclusions, but I appreciate the time you take to lay it out as clearly as you can as it means I generally only have to read your post once to figure out what you’re trying to say.
On the flip side, you can sound more than a bit self-righteous. I’m not sure what to suggest to alter your posting style to get the substance across without the perception of smug superiority that often comes through.
I think this is fair–I don’t despise BigT and think he makes positive contributions to a number of discussions, but he absolutely does have a tendency to self-righteous and preachy positions, which combined with long posts can be tedious. FWIW I also have a tendency to long posts.
And I overreacted and let a poster get to me far more than I should have.
I don’t hate him, but he is probably the most annoying poster. At least as a mod. I barely noticed him before becoming a mod.
When you read this BigT, I am sorry for going off on you yesterday. But also please stop bringing up old shit in other people’s ATMB threads. I won’t rise to the bait again but just flag those for ECG to deal with.
Oh, and I know that isn’t a heartfelt apology. But it is an honest one and I mean it. I never should have exploded. I almost never do.

I think you’re attacking a straw man here. I don’t think anyone “despises” BigT. That’s a word that I’d reserve for people who hold truly awful beliefs.
That’s exactly what everyone has been saying in this thread. Perhaps with less inclination to be polite about it, since people have been telling him the exact same thing for over a decade, to no avail.
