Even if you aren’t sure what they mean, there must be other terms like these that you never heard about until you started reading here.
What are some others?
In case the OP isn’t clear, I’m asking for other terms like “trope” and “meme” which were new to me until I saw them in use here and have since learned what they mean and how to use them to convey an idea that I didn’t know the word for before.
I know there are other such terms and I regularly refer to acronym finders and Urban Dictionary and such places for meanings of words or phrases I just now saw in use here.
I’m just wondering if there are other Dopers who have learned of “new words” or “new concepts” here for the first time.
Uhhh, ‘Dopers’ to mean almost the diametric opposite of what I always used it for?
