I realize that there’s a great deal of ill will towards some of these games, but I have enjoyed playing them - that is, when I’ve been able to get them to even load on my computer! I haven’t been able to play either of them in a while, unfortunately, especially Farmville! It takes -forever- to bring the farm up, and sometimes, it just crashes the flash player.
Any ideas as to what I can do to try to resolve this? Questions posed to Zynga, the game maker, have gone un-answered or not sufficiently answered (i.e., did NOT solve problems). I use Firefox exclusively, and connect to the Internet through cable modem; there doesn’t seem to be any problem with my connection. My feeling is that the problem is with Firefox and the flash player, but I’ll be damned if I can figure out what to do to fix it. :mad:
Back when I used to play Mafia Wars and Cafe World sometimes I just could not get it to work no matter what I did. I would try 3 or 4 different browsers, check Adobe for any flash software updates, reload the page a dozen times, send queries to Zynga, all of it to no avail. My feeling is that the problem is probably with Zynga and/or Facebook, not you.
Thanks for the reply, DCnDC - everything you mentioned is what I’ve gone thru as well! I too have considered that it may well be a Zynga and/or Facebook problem. I must confess that I miss playing the games - my little pet has been in the pound more times than I want to admit! Gah, I just don’t know why Zynga is so … non-responsive. You confirm my suspicions that I’m not the only one this happens to.
Also check and see if you are using ad-blocking software. I know that there are ad-blocking subscriptions which can interfere with farmville loading. Some of these are designed to speed Farmville by blocking only parts of the game, but it could interfere with the whole thing.
Also, if you haven’t done so, try loading in Internet Explorer and see if you get a different response.
