Troy Duffy is at it again, new claims of Boondock Saints 2

There’s a video that he posted in his Myspace blog (warning, link goes to Myspace video) wherein once again Troy Duffy claims that a deal is in the works with Sony and that they’re going to start shooting this summer.

Anyone buying it this time?

I don’t know if I’m buying, but I’m hoping. Could be really good if they don’t fuck it up.

Well according to him they’ll at least have most of the original crew back minus Willem Defoe, so that’s at least a good sign. He’s had nine years to polish the script, so hopefully it’s pretty decent. Then again, he’s had nine years to polish the script so that could also be really bad.

Have any of you seen the documentary about Duffy, Overnight? Based on that, I’d be damn surprised if he ever makes another film at all.

No, I’d never even heard of it. I’ll have to scrounge around and find that. I read the IMDB review in your link and the Wiki article on him and that movie and it seems pretty interesting.

The documentary is available from Netflix. It’s one of the ones you can watch online at their site if you’re a subscriber.

If it’s going to happen at all, I hope it happens soon. The main characters aren’t getting any younger/hotter.

See *Overnight *first, then report back. If Duffy is already posting videos on the web, then he hasn’t learned a thing. I predict it will never happen. And if it does, it will be in much reduced circumstances.

I’ve seen Overnight , and I seemed to have a different reaction than most other viewers. Most people see it as portraying Duffy as an arrogant know-nothing that screwed himself over. I actually though Duffy came off quite good; he seemed more a naive guy that the Weinstein brothers treated like their servant. Did anyone else get this vibe?

Troy, dude! Awesome you’re on the Dope! Seriously though dude, you need to chill a little if you want to be taken seriously in Hollywood. But if you can get that psycho-megalomania thing under control, you’d probably make some sweet movies.

(Assuming you’re Troy Duffy, because he’s the only one who could possibly read *Overnight *that way.)
