The Weird One, I started to watch but got distracted. Or maybe my husband grabbed the remote. I’ll DVR it next week.
Something that’s been bugging me (but maybe I’m just forgetful) – does Sookie know that Jason is with the church? I don’t remember how things were between them at the end of S1. Were they reconciled? I thought they were but maybe not. It’s weird that, for all they’ve been through, they’ve had no contact so far in S2.
Early in the season they had some contact. They were getting along okay. Sookie is the one that gave him the money to go the retreat. However I don’t think she knew it was that specific church.
She definitely does not know he is at the Fellowship of the Sun church. He made up some BS story about the “Marlboro Church”. Also, Sookie did give him the money from her uncle’s inheritance, but I don’t think she knows that he used it to go to the retreat, although maybe that’s not clear or I missed something.
When Sookie and Hugo were in the pastor’s office discussing the “wedding”, weren’t Jason and that other guy outside on the lawn building the platform? So if Sookie had looked out the window, she would have seen him.
I don’t know, maybe she’ll survive and she and Jason will stay together and she really will be the woman behind a powerful man. Though Jason is such an idiot I find that hard to believe, but then again, maybe she can be the brains of the operation. I’d like to see that to be honest.
I’ll admit to not paying close attention to the church scenes (except when Luke is on screen. He looks like I guy I had a thing for) but aren’t the grounds big with lots of buildings? I didn’t get the sense that they were constucting the platform right next to the main building.
Yeah, that’s one thing that definitely sticks out at me as something that the writers are doing for the sake of the plot, without any regard for how real people would act. Sookie and Jason have lived together their whole lives, and suddenly he takes off and she doesn’t seem to even give a thought to where he is or how he’s doing. It was like that when Lafayette was Eric’s prisoner, too –none of the main characters even seemed to notice that he was gone. I think Terry was the only one who commented on it.
I think, though, that the entire time Jason has been at the church camp is only supposed to be maybe a week or so. He hasn’t really been gone that long, and he did tell her that he was going off to a church retreat. It seems reasonable to me that she wouldn’t particularly be concerned about his whereabouts just yet.
They mentioned Lafayette. Sookie and Jason kind of had a falling out and he went his own way while she is wrapped up in her own little world with Bill.
Jason moved into his parents house when he was 18, leaving Sookie to live with Gram. It comes up on the show during season one when he has Amy at his house for the first time.
