True Blood returns

Is it just my spotty memory, or was that the first full-naked Sooky?

For naked butts, just spin the dial to Saving Grace. Mmhmm.

I forgot to mention that I’m really pleased to hear that the tv show will be plotted independently of the books. I’ve held off reading the series because I didn’t want to choose between it or the books. Now I can watch and read both.

I know all the guys love naked girls, but I get tired of all the nakedness of the main characters on cable shows lately. I have this problem with Weeds as well. Seeing Anna Paquin’s boobs the first time was kind of exciting, just because you know, had never seen them before, but now I just sit and go “Ok, when are we going to have the naked scene, let’s get this over with.” Particularly since they are a couple in real life in this show, I feel kind of embarassed watching them have sex. I didn’t give a shit about Jason’s naked butt either, and certainly won’t miss it, I guess nudity doesn’t make me tune in to a show. Ripping heads off and blood and carnage? Oh yes, please more!

For the record, I thought the episode was terrible, the beginning was the clunkiest thing ever, and most of the acting was just awful. However, I hated most of last season, and always stuck around because there would always be something to keep me watching and loving it, and I will be watching this until it’s canceled.

Also, according to that preview, if they really do turn Lafayette into a vampire, he’s going to be the coolest freaking character ever.

I’m skipping all spoilers in this thread, since I don’t have HBO, but I bought the first season and adored it. I’m usually the one in the theater muttering “That’s not how the book was!” but this is different enough that it keeps sucking you back into the story to see what they’ll do with the characters. I’ve read all nine books, and Twilight is a pale knock-off of Charlaine Harris’ work. After reading both series, I really almost think Harris could sue Meyers for stealing her ideas. In Harris’ books her vamps scoff about ‘playing baseball’ and ‘sparkling’ in trying to get Sookie to realize they’re not human and not idealized.

Ah, thanks, that explains things.

Hmmm. I’m not sure how I feel about that. If that means that Sookie stays with Bill’s obnoxious ass longer than in the book series, there are going to be a lot of Sookie/Eric fans who are pissed that they strayed from the book. I hope they don’t go that far afield from the novels.
