True Blood season finale (open spoilers)

I think this is the most confusing plot line, and one that 1) needs answering and 2) will be a focus in the next season.

For those who have read the books, a question: are the queens and kings of Vampiredom known to the authorities? I mean, are they open knowledge or are they a vampire secret? (The sherrifs evidently are open knowledge.)

If they’re not I’m guessing selling V is like a Third World dictator funding his army with cocaine/heroin/whatever the export of his country is/drug sales. I’m guessing even in small town Louisiana (is it established where the queen lives?) a large entourage and houses with indoor pools and lots of well armed security guards require serious cash influx.

I’m surprised that the vampires haven’t tapped into the pharmaceutical and medical markets though. THAT would be the place to go from hated monsters to beloved social assets AND get rich as hell all at the same time. You wouldn’t have to use blackmail or force even, you could win them with kindness; find some anti-vampire minister or senator or whatever who has a child with leukemia or a wife dying of kidney failure and offer them some V that will fix them- you’ll see a turnaround into a major ally super quick.

I really liked the queen’s “day room”. I’d totally do something like that if I was a vampire. Maybe change it up, beach scene one day, mountains another, maybe a cityscape. Awesome.

It isn’t mentioned in the books, but I’d guess not unless they’re being kept tabs on secretly by law enforcement because common people like Sookie and Barry had no idea that there were kings and queens until they had run-ins with them personally.

Is Barry a bigger character in the books?

the Queen is in New Orleans in the Garden District or at least one of her places is there.

Barry shows up a couple of times later in the series.

Yes, but not so much in book two, which this season was based on. He’s a bigger deal in book seven. Let’s just say he and Sookie are forced to work together for the common good in that one.

But at the very end, didn’t she say something like, “You mean you aren’t the god?” What a dim bulb!

I wonder when we’ll know what that other gift of Sookie’s is. Her hands sent out those sparks or whatever when she pushed down the meat sculpture.

The season finale was a completely let down to me. Compared to some of the earlier episodes this was borderline average. Just didn’t feel like a season finale at all :\

Me too, Kewk. Here it is 9 p.m. on Sunday night and no True Blood. Doesn’t seem right.

Well at least tomorrow we have House and Heroes to look forward too

I was underwhelmed too - far too little Eric, and I still don’t know why they introduced the queen early and did so little with her; it’s not as though they revealed the big secret that she, Eric, and Bill are party to as well. But I liked the very end because it signals that they’re sticking to the plot of the books. I mean, as much as they have so far

I’m going to miss Marryanne.

Be gone from this place! Thou hast no power here!

I think you’re in the minority. She drug like UGLY BETTY SEASON 3.

As both Boris Spassky and the producers of Grey’s Anatomy can attest, it’s never good to bring out the queen too early.
