True Blood: Shake and Fingerpop, 7/12/09 (Spoilers)

Forgot to add that I was really dig’n that preacher lady stripper dance.

She was making me think sinful thoughts.

Very ironic.

I don’t really get why he’s leaving either. But he did warn Tara several times. He’s just reluctant to give her details because MaryAnn has the power to make him change.

The impression I got from reading what people have said about the books is that although the vampires are indeed ‘supernatural’, their cover story is that vampirism is just a kind of virus.

Well he admitted he had been drinking, though merely a lunch time beer, but he had lost credit due to his previous harder drinking so they weren’t buying that.

Also, before she went home, Sookie had talked to her about loving Bill despite his faults and Tara was thinking about maybe giving Eggs a break.

I was just thinking this week that it’d be hilarious if they had some sassy human chick make a brooding, ancient vampire wrap his willy in a heating pad for 10 minutes before doing the deed. Of course, I would only suggest this for humor and not for the dynamite fanservice opportunity of seeing [del]Alexander Skarsgård[/del] some random actor 95% naked.

I admit, I too wondered WTF the Anubis flight was for, if vamps can simply run (fly?) from Bon Temps to Dallas in a night. In the books it’s said that older vampires become more powerful, so maybe Eric can travel faster than Bill, but jeez, they should have explained it.

Also, if a vampire can reach through your window without invitation, just how much protection does the prohibition on “entering” afford? If Eric had tried to grab Lafayette, would something have stopped him?

Having just read Living Dead in Dallas, I’m enjoying seeing more of the Fellowship and seeing some real characters being built. The rest of the season should be interesting.

I love them raising a teenage vampire. Jessica is becoming the most interesting character on the show. It was rather cute when she got “glamouring” practice lessons from Bill, when she yells “I’m ON the PHONE” from the other room (who could she be talking to? her friends from her previous life?) - and what’s with renting the man-whore? I guess humans rent themselves out as “snacks” to the vampire clientele, but it sounds extremely dangerous to me…I’m dying to know why Eric is so fired up to find Godric and what the deal is between the two of them, that should be quite interesting (it is different from the books)

Oh, this is for those of you who asked last week what drew the supernatural boys to Sookie. I just got book nine from the library today, and this is in the very first chapter in her own words:

“The trace of fairy blood I carried made me more attractive to supes, at least to some vampires. Not all of them could detect the little trace of fairy in my genes, but they tended to at least be interested in me, though occasionally it had negative results. Or maybe this fairy-blood thing was bull, and vampires were interested in any fairly attractive young woman who would treat them with respect and tolerance.”

The “virus” is their cover story, but it is just given lip service - everyone knows how the vampires are “made”, so they drop the virus story pretty quickly in the books and never look back.
Although there are lots of supernatural beings in the books, vampires are the only ones that have “come out”. The Shapeshifters and Fairies are hanging back and seeing how that goes for them, and the witches are hanging with the Wiccans much the same as they are in real life, if you believe in witches. Apparently in the larger cities there are vampire and shifter cops and jail cells constructed to accomodate supernatural criminals, but Bon Temps is pretty backwoods and backwards in that respect. The authorities are also in denial, as evidenced by their complete disregard for Tara’s pig.

On another note, I noticed that when Sookie was looking at the Vampire porn in the hotel, the guy on the ad for “His First Fangbang” sure looked a lot like the head of the Fellowship of the Sun…:dubious:

Something else I noticed having watched it again last night - did you guys recognize the Medical Examiner? (“Gotta hit the gym - I’ve had my shirt off lately”) It’s Phlox!
