That’s true. A low approval rating isn’t going to translate into impeachment or invoking the 25th Amendment. It is more likely to result in changes to the Congress in 2018 and the White House in 2020.

As pointed out in another thread, fully a third of Trump supporters do not believe Donald Trump Jr. had a meeting with Russians. I don’t mean they don’t think the meeting was illegal; I mean they do not believe the meeting occurred. A meeting Donald Trump Jr. has in fact said happened, has described, and has released written evidence of how he planned it. There is a LOT of doublethink going on.
Furthermore, the very opinion polls you’re describing are dismissed by Trump supporters as “fake news.”
Well, in fairness, that’s the percentage of Americans who voted for him in the first place.
