Trump fugitives: Nova Scotia welcomes you

I’ve just been informed of your recent case of Trumpitis, I’m so sorry. I’m not a doctor but I’m sure its not fatal and, if the symptoms are properly managed, it will burn itself out in 4 years (8 years at the most).

However for those who find the thought of catching this disease too scary, you can wait out the outbreak in beautiful Cape Breton. The technical legalities of such a move will need to be worked out by yourself, but the Island has been certified Trump-free ever since they passed that ban on the seal-whisker/hair-transplant trade (such a sketchy, sketchy industry).

From the same source, 16 Nova Scotians have chosen assisted suicide since June of this year through 10/31.

Not saying Cape Breton isn’t picturesque, but maybe NS isn’t for everyone…

Near Sydney? Hell yeah!!!

Oh.

:frowning:

Heheh, ah yes. We are a bit fond of our access to assisted suicide. But I assure you such a treatment would not be prescribed to you…unless, of course, you happen to have acquired Trumpitis from your time in Yankeeland then we must be open to all options necessary to stop the spread. I’m sure you understand.

Turns out there’s more than one Sydney, and you can’t surf off the beach of this one.

The good of the many; I understand completely right now! Maybe you could prescribe LSD instead, administered by force?

Oddly enough we sent our daughter off to school in NS this fall.
And boy, is she glad to be there right now.
She’s got at least two and a half more years there so she’ll miss at least most of his term.

Its not as easy to get into Canada as illegal Mexicans can get into the US. Ya just cant walk over the bridge. I guess an unguarded border maybe…They’ll probably build a wall too:eek:

Canada is not what it cracks up to be…or sound like

Whatever Trump does down here, if its something you fear, Canada is going to feel it too so no use running to hide. Proud American’s are ye? Eh.

So, what are all these jobs in Cape Breton that are going unfilled so that Americans must be recruited?

In that case, it wouldn’t be assisted suicide, it would be a mercy killing.

Been checking out test dates to take the IELTS here, ourselves… we’d been targeting the Toronto area because more tech jobs but I hear Nova Scotia is gorgeous!

You know of course that the anti-trump types are all smart people. I sure hope we don’t see a “brain-drain” in the U.S.!

Well…have you heard of a show called Deadliest Catch?

Not strictly true.

First we have Wiki telling us the one in NS is a “former” city.

As for surfing off the beach there: no problem provided your standards for “beach” and “surfing” are sufficiently open-minded. On the plus side, you can expect to have even the best waves entirely to yourself.

Y’all expelled my Acadian Catholic ancestors back in 1755. Why should I trust you now?

True, Nova Scotia is very nice, and all. But I’ve already fled for my life to Canada once, and I’m getting too old to do it again, unless catastrophe becomes a great deal more imminent…

I’ve liked it pretty good when I’ve been there, had fun, but I’ve remained in or around Halifax on all ocassions, and in summer and early fall. Great town, great people, beautiful land. But I get the nagging feeling that halfway through one winter there I’d be wanting an early check-out myself…

I like how you said “term” in the singular.

awkward

Speaking of ancestry, I’m part Ottawa Indian, yknow, the people y’all named your capital after. So technically I’m more Canadian than many of you?;);)

I was thinking of Newfoundland. I should be able to get in there – my wife is a Canadian citizen, from Newfoundland. The in-laws would love it – they’re always encouraging us to move up there. Or move back there, in her case.

Mine was from Newfoundland, too, but she’s not my wife any more. I don’t think I’d get a warm welcome there anymore. Aside from the fact that the other Newdoundlanders give an amazingly warm welcome to everyone. But you’d have to be pretty stoic to endure the climate there.
