Meh.
To be sure, he was a bit smoother then than he is now, but it’s the same old Donald Trump.
Meh.
To be sure, he was a bit smoother then than he is now, but it’s the same old Donald Trump.
Yeah, I think it is this.
He was an arsehole as a young and middle-aged man. He had a degree of animal cunning and charisma backed up by a rich-man’s crutch but as the natural ageing process kicks-in I’ll not be surprised if that cunning transmutes into incoherence and spite to go with the evergreen arseholishness.
In a nutshell, he was never going to get wiser, nicer, smarter or more eloquent as he ages.
The Germany thing is just a lie. Trump is a liar; he lies to impress people with no regard for whether what he said is true, or even plausible. He was lying to impress.
He probably does have some brain-rot. He reminds me of my Dad, whose brain was not in great shape his last year or two. The lying, though, he’s been doing all his life, and yes the lies were often as ridiculous as that. Having said that, I am unconvinced it’s diagnosable Alzheimers or some such thing; it just seems like ordinary old-person-brain-slowing-down, often accompanying weight gain and a poor heart.
It does seem like the constant criticism is getting to Trump.
Narcissists need admiration and compliments. They feed and thrive on positive attention. Trump had the perfect job building resorts and hotels. People liked those places and he knew it. The attention pushed him to build more resorts and hotels. He got more praise and satisfaction. He should have done that for the rest of his career.
He’s blundered into a job now where no one is ever satisfied. It’s criticism 24/7.
The question is who cracks first? The country or Trump?
I think part of his behavior is due to not sleeping well and being stressed a lot of the time. That can result in all sorts of mental issues, esp. in a 72 year old, out of shape man with poor eating habits.
It is really quite surprising that he hasn’t had a myocardial infarction or stroke yet.
My thoughts exactly.
