None. It’s very hard for people to admit they were conned. It means essentially admitting you were a sucker, a dumb-ass, a gullible moron.
Folks would much rather double down on the conman. It makes them feel better about themselves.
It’s splitting hairs, but I wouldn’t call Trump the country’s greatest con man. Most notorious, more like. I would imagine the greatest con men/women go undiscovered or forever unrecognized as such. I have no specific examples in mind.
