Trump: In 4 years we’ll have it fixed. You won’t have to vote

It’s that thing about leopards eating faces. The people who align themselves with Trump think they’re going to get rewarded with a seat at his right hand and that they will get a share of the power and glory.

I apologize for the hijack but this is the right audience and it’s not worth a new thread:

I just drove by a billboard that said:

TRUMP
A Champion for Equal Rights

WT everlasting F? What has he ever said that could remotely be construed as being in favor of equal rights?

After nearly a decade of Trump, starting with his shameful birther bullshit, are you honestly saying that truth need ever be a component of the garbage they’re saying?

The truly sad thing is that they’ve learned being true is not necessary to be believed by many.

Allegedly there’s something of a schism developing between Trump’s camp and the Project 2025 whackos. I think it’s all surface disagreement and he’d still embrace it in deed if not in word if he’s elected again.

What do you mean? Donald Trump is a champion of gay rights!

Title of this article: Trump Calls Himself a Champion of Gay Rights. Hang On a Second.

From 2016:

During his 75-minute speech at the Republican National Convention in July, Donald Trump looked genuinely surprised at the roar of applause when he said, “As your president, I will do everything in my power to protect LGBTQ citizens.”

Now, he didn’t actually do anything afterward to help the LGBTQ+ community, but he gave it brief lip service once.

Oh, and Trump should be counted with the likes of Abraham Lincoln because he didn’t enforce segregation at Mar-A-Lago.

His remarks came in response to a question from host George Stephanopoulos about Trump’s recent waffling over denouncing the Ku Klux Klan. “There’s nobody that’s done so much for equality as I have,” Trump said, before bringing up his club. “You take a look at Palm Beach, Florida. I built the Mar-a-Lago Club, totally open to everybody. A club that, frankly, set a new standard in clubs and a new standard in Palm Beach and I’ve gotten great credit for it.”

It’s totally ridiculous, but he puts out those tiny little nuggets and his followers think that it makes him some paragon of equality. Maybe compared to the extreme alt right folks they associate with, he is.

Speaking on behalf of The Gays, we don’t want any kind of “lip service” from that guy.

I tried to help Trump lie cheat and steal, and all I got was this orange jumpsuit.

Equal rights for all of the fine people; you know, White Nationalists and Neo-Nazis.

“Some men just want to watch the world burn.”

It is best not to stand next to such men holding a can of gasoline, a lesson that has been lost on many would be Trump sycophants and supplicants.

Stranger

If he ever actually exhausted this ablative layer of sacrificial sycophant-hopefuls, he would not last long himself.

“Stand back and stand by.”

Brilliant.

Speaking of Trump and the LGBTQ+, and I apologize in advance, but along those lines I’ve seen this meme more than once:

Within the group’s seminal work, “Mandate for Leadership,” are plans to ban pornography, reverse federal approval of the abortion pill mifepristone, exclude the morning-after pill and men’s contraceptives from coverage mandated under the Affordable Care Act, make it harder for transgender adults to transition and eliminate the federal agency that oversees the National Weather Service.

Bolded part - huh?

“In the next Trump administration, the maps will show the true paths of hurricanes. The President won’t need a Sharpie to correct the Democratic-liberal-socialist-fascist fake maps.”

Well FWIW, I read the “eliminate pornography” bit to be some revenge specifically directed at Stormy Daniels so it makes sense that Trump would also crap on the NWS for their factual maps that make Trump look bad.

I assume they consider the idea of the government providing weather forecasts to the public for free to be socialism or some shit.

Do you maybe need some help with that? It would scare the crap out of me.

https://www.politico.com/story/2012/01/7-year-old-attack-on-weather-service-could-cloud-santorums-campaign-071129

I remember that Senator Santorum wanted to privatize the weather service to enrich some of his campaign donors. I wonder if that’s what this is about? That was 2 decades ago, but there’s nothing new under the sun in Republican circles.

Yep, grift, push your personal beliefs on others, and make money from your office, just for starters.

That makes a lot more sense than my idea that predicting the weather was witchcraft and heresy!

Well, that too. They can be both wierd and corrupt at the same time after all.

Not sure if the NWS does any reporting on climate change, but that could be part of it. They don’t want any facts.
