Trump: In 4 years we’ll have it fixed. You won’t have to vote

Trump doesn’t know the Constitution from shinola.

yeah, sure looks that way.

And he DID achieve a lot in his first term. He’s made it possible for states to outlaw abortion - with laws so draconian in places that women with ectopic pregnancies have to travel out of state - and he’s gutted our regulatory agencies, both via the supreme court. I happen to think that essentially all the changes he has made are bad, so I hope he stays out of office even if he doesn’t make himself a dictator.

Moderating:

Perhaps you meant for this to be in the Pit. Please refrain from such attacks in P&E.

You can attack the post (as in the content), but not the poster. Please do not do this again.

This post is also pretty much a broadside attack on the posters of the SDMB.

Be careful what you post going forward. Next comes the warnings. I’m making a staff entry in your profile so all the Moderators will be aware.

I just found you pulled this same act in December. I’m upgrading this modnote to a warning.

I’m not sure how someone can be convinced that if Trump loses, and once again claims it was a rigged election, that there won’t be another insurrection attempt, perhaps this time better armed and coordinated then the last one. Look at the damage they did when they weren’t well armed or coordinated.

I agree that this time around the government will be better prepared for whatever may happen, but with wealthy people like Elon Musk supporting Trump it’s hard to predict what could happen under the right circumstances. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.

Trump doesn’t, really. Trump’s a billionaire’s son who’s been handed everything he wanted all of his life.

What does he know about being poor or working class or even middle class? Those are just the people he stiffs because he’s rich and he knows he can get away with it.

Trump probably actually hates his own followers because at the moment he needs them to go out and vote for him or to go out and stage a riot for him. He doesn’t like the reality that he, somebody who sees himself as a king, has to ask for favors from people he sees as peasants.

When Trump tells his followers that they won’t have to vote in four years, he’s really saying that in four years he won’t need them to vote for him. And when Trump feels he doesn’t need his followers anymore, they had better look out. Because Trump will be seeking payback for the years when he did need them and resented it.

You want a Hitler comparison? Look at the Night of the Long Knives. Hitler needed the common people to put him in power. But once he was in power, he didn’t need those common people any more so he turned on them.

The issue has nothing to do with whether they’re fat or skinny.

Considering that we’ve been managing for a couple of thousand years without one, it’s pretty obviously not an essential belief of the religion.

Yeah. People tend to assume that their specific belief will be the one that’s protected. But only religious freedom for all protects religious freedom for any. Christians during the Crusades were killing each other over the exact wording of the Lord’s Prayer.

Find me a case of confirmed voting fraud that was more than a handful of votes. And most of the few actual cases (all a matter of scattered individuals, aside from Trump’s unsuccessful attempts) were committed by a Republican.

Go ahead. Trump had an entire committee hunting for such and they couldn’t find anything. You can’t either.

Yup. He thinks the VP, entirely on their own, can cancel the results of a nationwide election.

Or, more likely, he wants to think so, and thinks if he says it often and loudly enough he can get enough people to believe him.

This.

And he doesn’t pay his bills. Never did. Has been screwing subcontractors out of their earned pay for many years. He won’t pay this (metaphorical) bill either.

Trump hates BOTH poor people and rich people. BECAUSE he’s a spoiled brat who never had to do anything. He hates the poor because they’re not like him. He hates the rich because they make fun of him for being a moron.

Trump really owes his Presidency, in no small part, to the religious right. They’re the only ones in this country capable of totally ignoring endless amounts of profoundly persuasive evidence, and STILL devoting their lives to The Greatest Story Ever Told – a mediocre work of Bronze/Iron Age fiction.

It really isn’t their friends, their neighbors, their colleagues, or the Democrats who are looking down on them and laughing at them behind their backs.

It’s the places where they get their news and the people to whom they keep writing checks.

TFG has taken every conceivable position on every possible issue. He has both affirmed and disavowed every position he’s ever held. He was simultaneously both deadly serious and totally kidding.

The strategy? No matter the outcome, he can point to ‘evidence’ that he called it right from the beginning.

Spineless, soulless, immoral, amoral, incompetent, gutless flip-flopper.

My advice to Christians that are thinking about voting for Trump is to remember that “the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made.”

And Jesus said “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

So you have to decide whether to vote the way the serpent told you to or the way Jesus told you to.

We’ve pretty much seen his excuses. “No one knew health care was so complicated!” That is, he didn’t realize the depth of the problem. He “tried to drain the swamp”, but the swamp creatures were too numerous and powerful. Now, he knows better, and knows who to fire on Day 1.

And that’s not even a lie, either. He didn’t have any idea how to do anything when he first started, and didn’t really have any serious motivation to try, until his awful and criminal actions started catching up to him. And he didn’t have the Project 2025 people standing behind him whispering in his ear every day.

You’re not following the logic here.

Donald Trump is never wrong. We know this is true because Donald Trump said it. And everything Donald Trump says is true. Because Donald Trump is never wrong.

I think this is a key factor. The Project 2025 people were no doubt astonished at how much Trump was able to get away with while he openly broke laws. And they said “Wow, imagine somebody breaking laws like that while they actually had a rational plan guiding them.”

This why Trump’s second term would be a lot worse than his first term. This time the crime will be organized.

He wasn’t joking, though.

The only time Trump jokes is at the expense of others, and only somebody far less privileged than he.

Like when he mocked Serge Kovaleski, the disabled New York Times reporter. That cracked Trump (and his supporters) up!

But a pretty good song.

Oh. Dude. SO good.

For those who don’t know …

That’s an explanation that makes sense (insofar as anything about Trump makes sense), but he can not use it. Trump can not admit that he has ever failed at anything, or been anything less than perfect. He can’t say “I’ve learned things since my first term”, or “I’ll do better this time”. When asked why he didn’t make things perfect during his first term, he has to deflect the question and find someone else to blame.

He’s also famously said that he “doesn’t kid.”

TFG has claimed every election he’s been in has been rigged, before they even happened, even the one he won. There isn’t any question that he’ll claim the 2024 election will be rigged, whether he wins or loses.

What makes you imagine there will be any armed, coordinated civil war when he loses in 2024 any more than there was in 2020 when people were again claiming the same thing? QAnon, for what little coherency or organization there was in such a wide, whackadoodle conspiracy believing ‘organization’ has fizzled out. There is no organized, armed paramilitary group backing up TFG. There’s just a lot of hot air about a civil war being needed to bring about ‘real change’ and talk about how divided the country is.

And more importantly, again, why do you imagine TFG losing would be worse for the country than him winning?

Why isn’t his current running mate Mike Pence?

Maybe the insurrectionists will be driving cybertrucks this time … it’s a CyberTruck Conspiracy Theory…
