Well sure but… What if he didn’t? Republicans don’t have to follow the law - for them this is a feature not a bug.
Moderating:
Ok, let’s leave off with the gratuitous hijacks. I’ve been loose with moderation in this thread due to the high emotions running as a result of Trump’s indictment, but let’s try to get back to posting relevant information in this and other P&E threads. Thanks.
Everyone always forgets that most of the news about all the bad things happening to Trump are sourced from Team Trump. That gives them the ability to shape the news cycle to their benefit. For example, they can turn a case that’s largely about business fraud into a case that’s mostly about paying a woman to keep a private affair private.
And then you simply continue to pretend that that’s all it is because it’s how most of everyone has been taught to think about that case, before they lost most of their interest.
Why can’t I see the post from this (@ActionJackson) poster that’s prompted all the replies? I don’t have them blocked. Have they been banned already?
I’m wondering if DeSantis might be playing at least 2-D chess here. Maybe his real audience in making that statement wasn’t the MAGAt rubes but Trump himself, trying to encourage him to dig in deeper and make the Really Stupid Choice.
Yep. Like certain mayflies, he had only an 18 hour lifespan.
Still, don’t posts from banned posters still appear in threads with BANNED showing by their name?
(Not that I really care to read their post – I can gather from the replies what it said.)
In egregious cases they are simply wiped from the board, or as we say “cornfielded”.
In the case of longtime posters, yes. If it’s what the mods determine is clearly a trock, coming back under a new name to just grief, they typically cornfield everything that was posted under the trock name, including the account itself.
Got it, thanks! /hijack
Would a bounty hunter be allowed to arrest him? I mean, bad idea given the Secret Service protection, but could they in theory?
I would definitely watch that episode.
It can’t be more than 5,000 miles. I think 787 Dreamliners are used for transatlantic flights. Trump Force One is a 757 with a range of only 3,300 miles, so that plane couldn’t be used.

That’s for people who skip bail. If he never shows up and thus never has bail imposed, a bounty hunter wouldn’t come into play. (they’re hired by bail bondsmen to avoid forfeiture of the bail bond)
I doubt Trump would even have bail imposed. New York had significant bail reform like three years ago, so for a nonviolent white-collar crime like this, and no criminal history, where he responds to a summons, they would probably release him on his own recognizance.
Plus, he’s not going anywhere… the Trump Organization is headquartered in New York, no?

I like this form of coverage.
I think he’s a Florida man, now. We accept him, we accept him, one of us, one of us! Gooble-gobble, gooble-gobble!

This is the gift that keeps on giving. While on my computer or my phone, casually surfing the net, every few minutes “Trump Indicted” pops up and I “hawhaw” a la Nelson.
What are the odds that Trump posts something on social media that will end up being used against him in court between the arraignment next week and the start of the trial?
“I never thought they’d lock HIM up,” sobbed a distraught member of the Lock Her Up Party.
Props to Betty Cracker of the Balloon Juice blog for this one!
