It’s absolutely unprecedented (legally). No court has weighed in on whether the NY state law that says if you conceal in furtherance of another crime (which bumps these all to felonies) means another NY state crime, or ANY other crime (ie, federal?, could it be a British crime - I’m saying this last part to purely clarify the point). It is a big legal unknown that should be decided by the appellate courts.

That was lovely! CNN’s charitable interpretation was that it shows that you don’t get the kind of deference Trump is accustomed to when you’re under arrest. My interpretation is that the security guard just did what 100 million Americans would also gladly have done.
I think the word you’re looking for there is “criminals”. Intimidating the judge is criminal, period.
I apologize if this has already been mentioned but the judge’s daughter apparently worked on the Biden campaign. There are claims of bias because of that.
We’ll find out. The experienced lawyers I’ve heard speaking on the matter seem to think it’s pretty thin gruel.
