Leave it up. Use it as a giant to screen to project unredacted Trump/Epstien files.
Either they are lying about taking down the name, or they accidentally (on purpose) messed it up so that they could say “Whoopsy! I guess we’ll just have to restore his name and start over!”.
I think they took off the letters, but the posts the letters are on, and especially the holes in the facade that anchor the posts, are genuinely very difficult – probably impossible – to not leave messed up.
A 24-minute video? Can you at least summarize the point? Anything?
The video tells the story of Trump’s shenanigans with the Kennedy Center and explains the legal basis for the corrections underway.
Don’t worry about the bolt holes. There are restoration companies who can completely fix it. Shouldn’t be cost prohibitive unless trump gets a no- bid contract for it.
I’m okay with leaving the bolt holes visible. Trump’s name being there is insulting. Trump’s name being ripped off is hilarious.
Totaly agree.
And make some documentary’s about the “Ballroom” (known as the hole in the ground). Trump managed to have people dig a hole.
Don’t know what to say about the East Wing.
Wasn’t the East Wing where the First Lady’s office traditionally was? Especially those who actually did anything as first lady, more than sometimes standing around looking somewhat decorative.
That’s my understanding. Melania has another reason to distance herself from DC, so she is probably thrilled.
Her office, and those of her “staff”. She actually has “chief of staff” ![]()
Yes, it used to be.
Thanks! I thought it might have had some new information or something.
As @gnoitall said, the video provides a brief background on the founding of the Kennedy Center, then a pretty detailed account of how Trump stacked the board with his toadies and appointed himself as chair, and then how his toadies jammed through the name change and tried to rubber stamp Trump’s agenda for the 2 year shutdown for renovations. It also summarizes the blow back from performers. The heroine of the piece is Representative Joyce Beatty, who was an ex officio trustee. It is her lawsuit against the Center that has lead to the removal of the letters and the halt of the closure and renovations. All in all it’s 24 minutes well spent if you want a deeper understanding of the current state of play.
Interesting item from Snopes, yes a double rainbow did show up as his name was being removed!
It is not known that the name was removed.
The article did not match what you said. You claimed that Snopes said that the double rainbow appeared as his name was removed, but the actual article said the double rainbow appeared when has name was scheduled to be removed. But it wasn’t removed at that time, and we still don’t know if it has actually been removed at all yet.
In fact, it is Wednesday morning, and there is still only one source of information about the supposed removal of the name-the toadie appointed by Trump to the Kennedy Center board of directors, the same toadie that agreed wholeheartedly with Trump’s decision to close the place for two years.
God didn’t get the memo.
