Well, duh… he knows something about buying or bullying his name onto buildings, but he knows nothing about war and can’t win.
Trump is so mad he can’t put his name on the building, he is now threatening to treat it like the East Wing of the WH.
Coincidently, Trump himself could be accurately described as "structurally unsound, fundamentally unsafe, and embarrassing to the Nation’s Capital.”

I think it’s a safe bet that with the recent enshittification of the White House and the Orange Peril presiding, that the whole Washington area is pretty much a disaster. All it needs now is a gilded ballroom and the gigantic Arche de Trumpe.

Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, installed by President Donald Trump, say the center is on the brink of bankruptcy and argue that putting the president’s name on its facade — and thus ensuring his fundraising efforts — may be the only way to avoid imminent and “certain fiscal collapse,” according to documents obtained by The Washington Post.
The bleak assessment is laid out in a 57-page packet distributed to the center’s board of trustees ahead of a special meeting Tuesday, when the Trump-led board is scheduled to consider two resolutions aimed at addressing twin crises confronting the national performing arts center: one financial, the other physical. Center officials say they could be unable to make payroll or pay routine maintenance contracts “within a matter of weeks” and argue that publicly recognizing Trump could secure his help raising enough money to keep the institution afloat.
Center officials are also recommending that the board close its main building immediately, warning that remaining open would endanger lives. Board approval, which seems likely, means the center could close as early as Tuesday.

So, it never occurred to them that their adding Trump’s name to the Center is what caused a massive decline in fund-raising and ticket sales.
So the only thing that could save the place is putting the name of a sexual predator on it. I say bulldoze it down and let the next Democratic president and Congress build a new one in the same spot. Keep calling it the Kennedy Center and paint DJT’s face inside one of the urinals.
This administration (both versions) has been very fond of saying “There’s the problem (that they created)!” then doing an outrageous fix (with grift). And if it doesn’t work out, blame someone else and repeat.

In a sense of fairness, it’s often easy to identify a problem, but finding solutions that work, with minimal consequences, and within a budget is a challenge for most people, much less committees or corrupt individuals.
@BobLibDem If the building is indeed in bad condition it might be best to tear it down and build a new structure.
I’ve been there regularly over the past few years and it seemed fine to me. Of course I am not an expert in this field.
It breaks my soul to witness the slow and deliberate destruction of such an iconic venue. I will miss going there this year.
I don’t even want to head into Washington, DC anymore.
And if it really is in need of some restoration, Trump could’ve done that (properly), had a re-dedication ceremony and stuck a plaque with his name on it somewhere commemorating the event and it would’ve been there forever. Instead we have this.
Same with the White House, he could’ve chosen to redo a room or two and stick a plaque in it with his name, which, again, would’ve been there forever (or at least a long time), but when he decides to tear down entire wings and rip out gardens and replace former president’s portraits and generally gut the place, future presidents are going to be looking to erase as much of his ‘improvements’ as they can, instead of just ignoring a few plaques and avoiding a handful of rooms.
They neither know nor care whether there’s any truth to the ‘fund-raising would increase with DT’s name on it’ claim.
The claim is merely a pretext. It’s leverage, they believe, to get the dreaded name up on the building. He has decreed it shall be done, and they have moved to obey. (These are his hand-picked operatives, of course.)
At least the Kennedy center was able to celebrate David Letterman, Led Zeppelin, and Buddy Guy on the same night (Thanks Obama!) before Republicans and Trump were able to destroy it.
Judge: Trump is not allowed, ever, really ever, to add his name to the building or the grounds or anything, really, without an act of congress.
