I heard that someone proposed doing a non-union production of The Sound of Music, featuring Lara Trump as Maria and Barron Trump as Rolf.
But after they read the script, it was rejected because it very divisive, what with all the bad things they said about Nazis and they even vandalized a Nazi car at the end without consequences. There was a brief discussion about changing the ending so the Von Trapp’s ended up in a Central American concentration camp, but at the end they decided to look at other productions.
South Pacific seemed promising after they looked at Act 1, because the pretty Southern nurse (another Lara Trump role) rejected the woke French guy with dark-skinned kids. But Act 2 horrified the board by featuring a drag show, and then the pretty girl went woke. Someone pointed out that there was a song about how to teach your kids who to hate, then someone else pointed out that they were saying you SHOULDN’T do that. Again, someone recommended changing the ending so they nuked the plantation but they couldn’t figure out the logistics. The board ultimately decided that the show was too divisive for Trump’s America.

The Kennedy Center has been renamed:
Trump, a Republican who’s chairman of the board, said at the White House that he was “surprised” and “honored” by the vote.
“The board is a very distinguished board, most distinguished people in the country and I was surprised by it and I was honored by it,” he said.
The New York Times points out that the current name is the result of a law passed by Congress so they would need to approve any change.
Some of us were previously of the opinion that lots of thing Trump did would have to be approved by Congress–but he went ahead and did them anyway with no Congressional nor judicial consequences.
But Dewey you don’t seem to realize how modest Trump is–undoubtedly the board wanted to change the name to just the Trump Center (dropping the Kennedy) but modest Trump insisted they still retain Kennedy as part of the name.
For now. They’ll make that change in two weeks.
Although he wasn’t so modest as to allow JFK’s name to come first; the full name is to be “The Donald J. Trump and The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.” Awkward in its length and that they left the word memorial in there.
They didn’t leave “Memorial” in the name; they added it.
The name of the institution per Act of Congress is the “John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.”
Trump was also shocked -SHOCKED - to find that gambling is going on in here.
I could get behind The Donald Trump Memorial Whatever. At least until the body is cold. Then take down the sign and incinerate it along with all the other cheap trash he has installed.
Actually, burning all that stuff would be disastrous for the environment.
I think JFK’s surviving descendants should request that his name be removed if Trump’s is going to be on it. What a travesty.

Caroline Kennedy should sue to have her father’s name taken off the center.
