Trump lies he’s the Devil, Biden lies , it oh that’s just old Joe

Hell, I’ll consider spotting the OP all 20K or so of Trump’s lies if he can point to something Biden said that is as yuge a whopper as "“and Mexico will pay for the border wall.”

I’m of the opinion that some of the banned Republicans could have salvaged themselves if they managed to rein in their tribalism. IMHO, if Clothaump, for one, could have managed to stay the hell out of the Pit, he’d still be here “circling the drain”* with the rest of us but couldn’t help himself.

*His phrase for the status of the SDMB.

I suspect the OP is part of the crowd that considers Trump’s tens of thousands of lies all ‘character’ and fun stories to make a point, and Biden’s as “calculated, manipulative falsehoods.” I’ve been seeing it in a lot of apologist articles, disgustingly enough. So in their POV Trump is just a tale teller, who’s having a good time talking things up, while Biden is lying to take advantage of folks.

If that’s the case, the OP is a pathetic fool, rather than a troll. Either way, doesn’t reflect well on them.

Ok, I’ll bite. What are some Obama lies told between when he started his Presidential campaign and January 20, 2017? And I want actual lies, like what Trump tells. They should be:

  • statements of fact that are verifiably false at the time of the telling
  • intentional attempts to mislead
  • I feel bad not having a third criterion

This should rule out promises he was unable to deliver on (If you like your insurance plan, Guantanamo, etc) as well as jokes, errors, quickly corrected mis-statements, etc.

Honestly curious.

TIA,
DNT

This gives him too much credit. Don’t over think it. The claim by the OP is just plain bullshit, of exactly the same quality and degree of introspection that his leader Trump displays. “Trump good Biden bad” is all of the thought that went into it.

Lol, you’ve been here long enough to use the default selection for an unknown third item on a list.

Oh I know what it is. Not using it is an intentional choice.

I talked to a woman today who:

  1. Won’t wear a mask because it doesn’t allow her to smell the bacteria she is inhaling (and if she doesn’t smell them, her body won’t know how to fight them).
  2. Believes that Bill Gates is involved in a conspiracy to make us Communist.
  3. Hi, Opal!

In our conversation, she let on that she had 3 degrees - two Masters and a Ph.D. - taught at the U. of AZ, and is now retired. She did reference that it was critical to get ‘our President’ another 4 years.

I still sold her and pocketed my commission,

Google Photos

Sold her?

Sounds like someone got a bad deal.

Maybe someone was buying people to fill Trump rallies.

I do insurance.

I’m not giving them any credit - I just want to differentiate between whether he’s a TrumpieMonkie (reprehensible, but still technically human) following one of the most recent trends of the apologists, or a troll as other posters suggested. Since they haven’t returned to the thread to defend the post, I’m leaning toward the latter however.

You know you can’t defend Trump, so dragging everyone down to his level is all you’ve got left?
Fuck off, troll.

Life insurance? Do you have different actuarial tables for people who say things like…“Won’t wear a mask because it doesn’t allow her to smell the bacteria she is inhaling”

If you don’t see that there’s a monumental difference between Trump and Biden…

No raspberry from me, more of a Fuck You. Running Coach is being nice, because he’s a nice guy. Or he’s up to something sinister, because he’s also sinister.

Someone who wasn’t trolling would have included what lie from Biden had gotten them so upset, and quoted someone being okay with said lie.

But I don’t read this as someone who necessarily can’t be convinced. I read it as those sort of last attempts to justify what they know can’t be justified. They could actually break through to the other side. It’s when they argue counterfactuals as true that they become truly unreachable. It’s more a crossroads: do they realize they’re grasping at straws or just dive in deeper?

What’s that line in the Bible? Something about ‘Cast your baited line into the water…’?

There’s a thing called Google for those who’ve forgotten Obama’s lies.

"In July 2016, Obama asserted: “We flood communities with so many guns that it is easier for a teenager to buy a Glock than get his hands on a computer or even a book.” …

A year earlier, Obama bewailed “neighborhoods where it’s easier for you to buy a handgun and clips than it is for you to buy a fresh vegetable.”

The Hill, Washington Post and Politifact have numerous examples of Obama’s whoppers.

As I suggested previously, Trump has set a new standard for lying. But it’s not as if past Presidents have been paragons of honesty.

Here’s a non sequiter- Rush Limbaugh says his lung cancer is terminal!
No link, because fuck Rush Limbaugh and his shitty cancer ridden lungs!
Pizza Night!

That was a weird article. He doesn’t cover the Glock vs. computer/book comparison, and then puts a really weird spin on the handgun/vegetable one, which he immediately backtracks on. (It was obvious to me on first reading he was observing that there are neighborhoods that are food deserts but where firearms are readily sold, both legally and illegally. Why the article’s author felt the need to detour into background check laws I have no idea.) As best as I can tell at this point, these statements are true, or at worst, mild exaggerations to prove a point. What they aren’t are clearly, objectively lies. Maybe you should go back to that ‘google’ thing you were mentioning and try again.
