Trump Magically Turns NFL Games Into Anti-Trump Rallies

I agree with the remainder of your post, but the board’s lefties don’t do what you write here. I am nearly alone in claiming the shutting down of left or right wing speakers on college campuses is not a freedom of speech issue. I would say the board’s lefties, if they can be stereotyped in any way, believe it’s just a"given" that anybody understands the shouting down of speakers as a freedom of speech issue.

You don’t even need to make a statement about groups of people on this board and their claims on this or that topic. You can simply say, just as shouting down speakers is not a freedom of speech issue, so is the owners telling their employees not to protest on game day.

It’s not difficult for me; you’re the one who seems to be having an inordinate amount of trouble with it. You don’t seem able to understand that what I was criticizing is not the constitutionality of restricting employees’ freedom of speech, but rather the stupidity of describing such restrictions with the inaccurate euphemism “direction how best to use their freedom of speech”.

Sure, but it’s stupid to describe such limitations as “direction on how to best exercise freedom of speech”.

Sure, but it’s stupid to describe such prohibitions as “direction on how to best exercise freedom of speech”.

In the first place, you seem to have tizzied yourself into confusion between what NFL owners are actually doing and what Kalafer (and Trump) have advocated that they should do. AFAIK, NFL owners are not in fact attempting to tell their players whether they may or may not take a knee in protest during the anthem.

In the second place, if the owners did impose the limitations that you describe, it would be stupid to describe such limitations as “direction on how to best exercise freedom of speech”.

The point is not whether it’s constitutional to limit one’s employees’ freedom of speech in certain ways: sure it is. The point is that it’s stupid (and disingenuous) to pretend that limiting freedom of speech is nothing more than “directing how to best exercise freedom of speech”.

Is this like Kim Jong-un giving direction to the workers and peasants?

Unlike Jong-un, you can tell Trump to fuck off.

I’m pretty sure Kim Jong-un has told Trump to fuck off.
It’s probably more poetic in Korean.

Is that the word that got translated as “dotard”?

“BREAKING: Quarterback Colin Kaepernick tells CBS he’ll stand during national anthem if given chance to play football in NFL again.”

snicker

Maybe.

However, La Canfora, on Twitter,, said the matter was not discussed.

The very special snowflake, Mike Pence, left an NFL game today because he couldn’t handle the protest. Of course, working with President Pussygrabber is fine.

Fuck you, Mike Pence.

No doubt he went to the game just so he could be offended and leave.

Someone should ask him about Trump’s remarks about POWs. And trying to steal donations intended for the military. Calling the military weak.

Some remarks by La Canfora preceding the “he’s not planning on kneeling” assertion that made the headlines:

Even if Kaepernick has in fact renounced acts of protest during whatever future career he may have (an assertion that seems pretty dubiously supported so far), he has already, with the assistance of President Trump, turned anthem-time protest gestures for social justice issues into a national discussion.

Fun fact: Some high school football players in my area took a knee for the anthem during recent games. This offended some local veterans who saw it as disrespectful to patriotic unity and the sacrifices made by veterans. So a bunch of veterans showed up at the team’s next game with a bunch of patriotic bumper stickers…

… and a big ol’ Confederate flag.

Yeah, nothing like displaying the symbol of a secessionist rebellion against the US for the sake of preserving black chattel slavery to teach black American high school students a lesson on how to be properly patriotic.

Free speech is a wonderful thing. The Trumpies were back in Charlottesville yesterday, celebrating the murder of Heather Heyer. Some fine, fine people

Wow. I didn’t see that coming.

So waving the Confederate flag is the correct way to honor the sacrifices of veterans? This makes sense to the veterans? How? Were any of them asked (on camera or on mic) to explain it?

Not trying to put you on the spot. But it would be interesting if that story got any follow-up; seems like some national attention would be appropriate.

BREAKING: We deleted a tweet about Colin Kaepernick saying he would stand for national anthem if he returned to NFL. A corrected tweet will follow.

Guffaw

Poor old Capernik…

Saw a comment on one of the latest article about him.

“He’s already pissed off conservatives. Now by standing he will piss off BLM. Whose advising him OJ Simpson”?

Okrah, leave the spreading of Fake News to your Moscow masters. Your job is to sow doubt and confusion… which, btw, you’re not doing well at.

He’s sowing doubt and confusion all right. The wind keeps blowing it back in his face.

Nah, OJ just got out of prison. He’s busy fucking your mom.

So, he flew from Las Vegas to Indianapolis, and then to LA. Did he have plane tickets for a plane to LA after the game was over? Reservations? And then he was so shocked at the unpatriotic goings-on, he stormed out and…got new plane tickets? Or did he just hang around for a couple hours in the airport bar?

Should be easy enough to prove.

Well, I hope he wiped your shit off his dick first.

I’ll warn my mom.

PS…you should probably wipe you own shit off your lips…OJ gets a bit sloppy you know.
