After his victory speech, I was willing to let Trump convince me he wasn’t the man he acted like in the campaign. Well, maybe he isn’t, but he’s *acting *just like it.
I gave him his chance. But no longer. Citoyens! Aux barricades!
Sessions has said that Trump is dedicated to law and order.
As an example, he holds out Trump’s calls for the death penalty for the Central park 5. Men who were later exonerated when DNA evidence conclusively found that they were innocent.
Sessions thinks that it is great to call for the death penalty for innocent men. He thinks this makes you all about “law and order”.
Is he mentally damaged/deficient, or simply a horrible, horrible human being? Or one from column A and one from column B?
Sessions is a well known racist, who among other things said he admired the KKK before he found out they smoked pot. Of course he’d want a bunch of black & brown guys falsely accused of raping a white woman killed; that’s a classic lynching right there.
Just so we’re clear… The next potential AG sees NOTHING WRONG with someone who called for the death penalty to be applied to men who were later found to be completely innocent. In fact, he thinks this was a GOOD thing.

That’s been a common position on the Right for ages; IIRC Scalia said the same thing. You don’t execute people because they’re* guilty, *you execute them to provide a show. Or just because you can. The point for somebody like Trump or Sessions is to kill black people. Just like all the other lynchings.
Oh, I know that. This nation is going to be rolled back to something out of the Gilded Age, or worse. And it won’t come back in my lifetime, if ever.

The bigger problem is that a large number of police and prosecutors would probably agree. We see this all the time with death penalty cases. Who are always the ones who think it’s a huge mistake to commute the sentence or free the prisoner?
Man, is this guy out of touch! I think he just to America to get off his lawn.
So, should we expect DEA agents to start raiding marijuana dispensaries in those states who have made it legal, or will public support for legalization, coupled with all that tax revenue, keep a Trump justice department from meddling with this particular state by state decision?

I flat out told him that he will face a primary challenge if he votes for the guy. My confidence is because I live in the part of Arkansas that HATES that we are constantly tarred as racists. We have an anti-racist commission in my town.
I also told him that he can’t let Ryan change Medicare when Trump was elected on the promise of not changing it. And then I threw in my comments about needing an impartial Supreme Court and how the filibuster has helped “us” before.
(I am still a registered Republican, and will always use this to my advantage.)
Also actually posted on Facebook, even though it will probably cost me friends when I need them the most. But, like I said, while I want out of basic politics, I will continue to fight for the rights of minorities in this country–in as much as I can in my condition.
And politics is actually interfering in this in an unprecedented way.
Maybe the plan is to shut down the Dept. of Education, the EPA, the CDC in Atlanta, NASA, the National Science Foundation, the Dept. of Agriculture, and put the money into the important new functions of the federal government; Marijuana crime enforcement, prisons, and the new Department of Appropriate Female Behavior and Department of Deprogramming Gays.
I wonder if the feds plan on filling federal prisons with “marijuana offenders” because it’s pretty clear many stated aren’t going to cooperate with the AG in this? Enforcing this would be a foolish waste of time and money, much like Prohibition was.
We are so lucky to have your dispassionate discourse back on these forums. 
This possibility has been exactly why I’ve been saying for years that voting to legalize at the state level is a bad idea.
I don’t think I agree. Let’s see what happens.
