As pathetic as this effort is, I’m actually surprised he bothered to deliver something he promised months ago. Most of his promises along these lines go unfulfilled entirely.

Beyond that, the document is a tissue of falsehoods, misrepresentations and verbal trickery. To take one example, the document notes:

The Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled drop boxes are illegal under Wisconsin law, in a 4-3 decision issued in July 2022.

This is a true statement. Thereafter, there is a long list of statements that speak to how many ballots were cast by drop box in the presidential election. These statements, as far as we know, are also true. Trump, or whoever put the document together on his behalf, is counting on people not to notice that an election conducted in 2020 is, of course, not bound by legal rulings that were more than 2 years in the future.

I am not a Trumper. Nor do I know any personally. Not that admit it openly at least.

But I’d wager that if you pointed out this cowardice, this hypocrisy, this insincerity, if you brought up this point to a Trumper, they’d say that it’s because the courts are crooked and another tool that the Left/Deep State uses to persecute him.

This release goes along with his claim that the January 6 Committee destroyed all the evidence that the election was stolen. Therefore, he can’t be properly defended in the Election Interference case. (In reality Jack Smith is working to keep him from bringing this bullshit into the trial.) Yes, in 2022, the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled drop boxes are illegal. The stats following show how drop boxes were used in the 2020 election and how they could have been abused. It’s not saying that the drop boxes were illegal in 2020, it’s saying that they should have been.

This is not proof that they were abused, but they show circumstantial evidence that they were. The creator of the report is obviously biased, for example:

Why, just today, I went to my job at a private school, and then stopped by Staples and the bank on the way home, and then came back to my apartment. That’s, by my count, four visits to non-governmental organizations, at least.

I’d be curious for any explanation Trump might care to offer as to how exactly the dog ate his homework here. So there was one single copy of “the evidence” that was going to exonerate Trump but that evil secret-Democrat Liz Cheney somehow got her hands on all of it and made it disappear? Is that what happened now? It’s like an episode of 24, set in the universe of Idiocracy.

The easy response to Trump’s claim is to tell him that he’s making a serious accusation and that he’d better have evidence of it that he can bring to court. Otherwise that is defamation. And he definitely knows what that is at this point.

Yes, but he still has no concept of the consequences of defamation. As far as Trump is concerned, the consequences merely mean he has to send out another fundraising letter, and then stall the payment of his fines as long as possible so he can pocket the cash.
